I know of the restaurants that are across from DL (Mimi's, Tony's etc) but are there any buffet places nearby too ?

What about near Universal ?

If my remember recalls, i believe there is a Hometown Buffet just down the street on Katella and Euclid.

Also, some character dining are also buffets as well.(i think, someone needs to verify this one)

I wasa going to say Hometown Buffet also. Great value but you need to have a car or ride the bus to get there

Also if you sign up for their birthday club a few days before you go, you will get a buy 1 get 1 free coupon that can be used NOW. Then on your birthday you will get one also but of course if you don't have a buffet near you then you won't get to use that one.

I plan to sign up closer to my trip so I can use the buy 1 get 1. We usually go here at least once during our trips.

Do you know how much that buffet costs ? I found their web site with the menu but it doesn't list the prices.

I did sign up for the list to get the coupon. We don't go until Sept though. Wonder if it will be expired before we go hmm

I dont reember the cost and yes the coupon will expire in like 10 day - 2 weeks after you sign up.

Sign up again, using a different email address.

There is one called Capatain Kidds outside the park on Harbour Blvd., but IMO it's not that good.

thanks for this info, just signed up...never tried hometown buffet before as there is none near where i live. is this place pretty good and do they have a pretty extensive buffet as far as foods to choose from?

this is the most extensive buffet I have ever seen. They have a everything from salads, to meat carving stations, fruits, breads, soups, a the largest dessert selection of any buffet around. They also have the largest selection of soft drinks I have ever seen.

Stay away from Captain Kidds, it was the worst meal of my life. I believe the fried chicken had been sitting out for 2 weeks when we ate there.

Do you remember how much was that buffet ? and how far from DL would you say it is ( walking ) ?
thanks

It is about 2.5 miles from Disneyland, not really walkable unless you are motivated. I don't remember the cost, but very reasonable and very worth it.

It's more like 1.5 miles, but as you say you need to be motivated to walk that far. However there is a bus line (OCTA #50) that runs west and east on Katella, so that's an option. Here's a Wikimapia view of the area, including bus stops and a box representing Hometown Buffet. Zoom out or drag the map left to see the DLR area:

That all being said, we prefer the Hometown Buffet on Chapman, west of Brookhurst (south and west from DLR) but you'd need a car to get there.

OHHHH they are old country buffets... thats good to know when ever we are in the states at bellis fair we like to eat there!!!! i will go for sure next time at disneyland!!!!!

I received my coupon and thought I would mention they aren't good on Sundays. We plan to go a couple times when we are there so the coupon will still save us money ! yahoo !

If anyone goes in the next few weeks could you report back what is costs for all of us who are wondering lol Thanks !
