Are the waterparks worth it?

Only add the 'PLUS' option to your MYW tickets if you plan on doing more than one activity or going to the waterparks more than once. If one trip to the waterparks is all you plan(no Disney Quest, miniture golf, etc)then purchase the daily admission.

My kids loved Blizzard Beach in '03 when they were DS5 and DD3 although there wasn't a whole lot for DD3 to do other than stay in the Tikes Peak area(which was fine with her. She also did Teamboat Springs and was scared to death and the Lazy River was ok)

It is a nice break from the major parks. We are planning a half day at Blizzard Beach in the middle of our trip this time as one of our "down days". Only other thing we have on the agenda for that day is 1900 Park Faire for dinner. If we decide to do more later then that is just bonus but I imagine everyone will be ready for a break.

I love the waterparks! we usually add on the waterparks and more and do the morning at BB and then hop a bus to TL after lunch, and then on any other random day if someone gets bored or too hot we may just hop over for an houror so, but we definately devote that full day to them as well!

Thanks for all the help! I have one more question (sorry!). Would you suggest just adding it on to the ticket option or just purchasing an admission ticket when we get there? Also, is this all part of the Disney transportation system? Or is it outside the park?

its more cost effective to add it to your ticket rather then buying a single pass entry because

- now you can go more then once
- you also get disneyquest

And the water parks are serviced by the disney bus system (tho on longer schedules then the parks typically)

The water parks are a must for a week-long trip or more. They are one of the few areas where other attractions haven't caught up to the disney magic.

I think the price for one day is close to the price to add the waterpark option. So I would add it that way you can check out both water parks!

We bought our 10 day non-expire tickets last year and included the plus option. I think the cost came to $9 each for the options (which is a lot lower than the cost of one day). We have 5 pluses on ours, but now I think they have you get 6 options.

It is nice to have something to do on an 'off' day from the parks. We get tired going to the parks every day and DH and I would be fine just relaxing and going to DTD, but the kids need to 'do' something, so the waterparks is a nice option.

The waterparks are a must for us. BB is the highlight of our trips. BB in my opinion is the best park for children. My kids are little and we have gone 4 times. The set up at BB is great. It is easy to watch the little ones. I found The wavepool at TL is way too rough for little ones. I was nervous when my 4 year old was in it. There are many double tube rides at BB that your child will like. Can you tell that wa are a BB family? Have fun.

Does BB have a place to lay your towel on a chaise in the shade and leave it there while you go on some slides?

I would love to have a spot to hang out in the afternoon after going on the slides in the morning.

WE LOVE the water parks!! During our 10 night stay (last week..), we went to TL twice! It's so relaxing and a fabulous break from the parks. I highly recommend it!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Not to hijack thread - Any experts out there to answer a few (stupid-1st timer) questions:

1) Can you wear "water-shoes" into the park?

2) Are they strict about "no-rivets" on bathing suits - don't think DH or DS own any that don't have a few somewhere on them (even @ waist for tightening them)?

3) If entering via EMH, do you need to get their early, ala the major parks?

4) Do people "stake-out" lounge chairs w/towels...should we bring beach towels?

5) If it's raining (non-thunder/lightening) do the parks still operate?

TIA

For us there is nothing like a midweek afternoon at the waterparks. By midweek you can be pretty beat up from doing the parks, so it's good just to relax. Wish we could go when wer'e there in December!!
