We are currently scheduled to stay at the ASMu, but I have been thinking about changing our reservation to the AofA suite, either lion king or cars... It will add about $1296 to our trip...when I was on the phone with a CM today he said it is "VERY LIKELY" to have a special offer out soon so I opted to wait a little longer. What do you guys think?

The whole resort was excluded in this last offer. For me, the cost increase isn't worth the little amount of time we are in the room.

I'd book what you want at a price point you're okay with. If a discount comes out, great. But if it doesn't you aren't disappointed.
