We have ressies for 10 nights in early Nov. at the Polynesian. I thought this would be a slow time to go but with the FTP I am wondering if it will be crowded. Just to see what was still available I went on the Disney site and plugged our dates into several resorts only to find very limited availability (standard and garden views only). Has Nov. really become that popular - no wonder we aren't seeing any discounts. If the rooms are full what would be the purpose of offering discounts? We will take this trip regardless (we already have a "Come Back Rate") since our APs will expire Nov. 30th but I have no incentive to renew them.
I really feel for everyone out there holding APs with no discounts. I agree you should not mortgage your future for a vacation but I seem to suffer from having champagne taste with a beer pocketbook! I save and save so that on vacation I can take a break from the everyday worries of creative financing. The discounts make this possible for many of us.
