Are the phone apps. worth it and if so which one?

I use MouseWait on my Android phone.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Hydroguy, I can see why you like Lines. Maybe DH will have Mousewaits on his phone, and I will have Lines, and see how they both do. Such a great app to have! Thanks again!

We did this last summer. I had Lines and DS19 had MouseWait. Both were comparable but Lines had a cleaner interface.

I second Mousewait, they have everything you need and it's free, so you can't beat that. I really like the community they have with it and they do neat giveaways (called RAKs or Random Act of Kindness). I've seen people give away all kinds of things in park (pins, fast passes, souvenirs, handmade crafts, etc..) plus they do them outside of the park as well (like giving away stuff and mailing it to your house).

I believe the lines and Mousewait apps are open to all carriers and both have an iphone and android version. I think the one restricted to Verizon is the official DL app, which I have heard is not worth getting (I haven't tried it personally since I don't have verizon)

I have MouseWait and have used it many times with no complaints. I also have Disney Parks (Verizon only) but have not used it.

Disney parks is not really worth getting in my opinion. I liked Lines better for a paid app.

I got both Mousewait and Lines on my Droid for my trip last week and liked Lines better, mostly because it's got a much cleaner interface and it was faster and easier for me to find things in it. Also Mousewait would quite often lock up on me, refuse to let me back up to the menu, and force me to do a force close to start over.

I will say the Lines predicted wait times were way off (too low) in a lot of cases; I think maybe their alogrithms aren't quite as slick for California parks as they are for Florida.

We had the same experience last week. The Lines app's wait times were way off, almost always too low by 50% or more.
