Are the parks crowded the week BEFORE Christmas?

We are planning to be in Orlando the week before Christmas and I'm hoping it won't be crowded. Does anyone have experience with that timeframe? TIA!

We have been there before a week for christmas and the crowds were very light. WE had such a wonderful time. Enjoy!! :)

When I called our usual home rental agency and they said they only had ONE house left for the week before Christmas, it scared me :scared1: ! I am guessing a lot of people who live out of the USA will be staying in their vacation homes? I didn't think many Americans would pull their kids out of school the week before the holidays (besides me!).

From what I understand, the crowds in December at WDW are very light for the first two weeks and then slowly increase during the third week day by day. By the end of the third week, the crowds are very high.

I've been to WDW several times during the first two weeks of December, and found the crowds to be very manageable. No problems at all.

Enjoy.

I know the first week of Dec is a great time to go, we've done that, I'm just curious about the week before Christmas (Dec 16-23rd). We are actually only going to Disneyworld one of the days (Magic Kingdom and Epcot) and will spend the rest of the time at Universal Studios :) . I can't wait  !

We will be traveling to Disney during that same timeframe (16-20). We went the week prior to Christmas in 2004 and found the crowds to be manageable. They were busier than when we usually go in September, but we really expected that. I think because it is Christmas, we try to go with a different mindset ~ that its not all about the rides and about the Christmas atmoshphere. That helped take a little of the pressure off and our kids had a great time. We stayed at the Poly and the property occupancy was light, :) but the crowds seemed busy at the park. I think it is true ~ the closer you get to Christmas Day, the busier it becomes.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Last yea, we were there from Dec. 16 to Dec. 22, and the crowds got larger each day. We flew home on Friday, Dec. 23, and the Orlando airport was a nightmare.

We're hoping to go Dec 16-20. I think the crowds might be a bit higher this year b/c many school systems (including ours) have that week off.

We were there from Dec. 19th to the 27th last year and are returning this year from the 20th to 28th. Last year, crowds were very manageable right through Christmas Day. Christmas Eve mid-day in MK and Christmas Day afternoon in Epcot were very busy but not packed like the following week. Of course, the threat and eventual downpour of rain Christmas morning kept most people away from MK on Christmas morning -- which was absolutely wonderful!!! Dh and I agreed that attendance the week before Christmas seemed far lower than our late May, fall break (mid-Oct), and spring break (mid-March) trips!!!

We have been there twice the week before Christmas and both times we had light crowds.

have fun :sunny:

We are going Dec 17-25...hoping for ligher crowds but planning on BIG crowds so we wont be disappointed :sunny:
