Should we even do it? It sounds like a hassle. I just got an email which Im sure everyone is getting to help. What do you all think?

We'll be testing it in two days when we check-in to AKV Jambo House.

YES YES YES YES YES!!!! We just used them last week. They are soooooo easy. It's so easy to choose fast passes. I did it all on my phone in about 30 minutes for the whole trip. It is so nice to not have to fish a key to the world card out of your pocket to pay for things. It's so nice not to have to figure out where to hide your room key while swimming. Everything about them was great great great!

You will still have access to paper fast passes via your room key so there is no harm in trying the magic bands. There is only stuff to gain. Besides if you try them and you decide you hate them, you don't need to use them.

You may as well, it will be what we all must do once it goes live.

We loved ours. I would not use one for Wishes, it was the only one I felt not worth it due to the location they have selected.

When our trip was over, I was so used to wearing my Magic band I missed it.

We have annual passes does that change anything. I thought that I read somewhere that getting fasspasses was kind of a pain. We never really know where we are going til maybe the night before. Do we then just get online and book FBs? What if we decide not to go to that park? Do we have to cancel those Fbs and then try to get others?

We were just there 2 weeks ago and LOVED them. They made everything really easy.

You need to registar for My Disney Experience (fairly easy to set everything up) and you can/change your fast pass information just about anytime. On your phone if you have the app but also at the park. In MK next to Tony's is a place where they are assisting guests with the bands and they are making it really easy to use/adjust.

Even cast members all over were asking us how we liked them.

Well got mY MB and could find no way to use it for any fireworks etc only gave me 4 sets of choices for FP+ that they chose not that I chose:headache:

Anyone staying at a Disney resort right now, should be able to test. As of October 23rd, ALL resorts are part of the "test".

If our resort is scheduled for Magic+ when we go, what do we need to do?

All resorts will have Magic Bands by 10/23.

You need to make a My Disney Experience account. There is a MDE link on the upper right side of the WDW website.

After you make your account you want to create profiles for each of your family members.

Once all of that is done you can link your existing dining and resort reservations to the site.

Next you will need to link your tickets and assign each one to one of the profiles you created.

The above is all of the set up. Once it is done you should be able to customize your Magic Bands (there is a link on the MDE page) and make FP+ selections. You will be able to customize the MBs without tickets attached, but you will not be able to make FP+ selections without them.

You have until 30 days before check in to customize your bands. They will be processed the next day and shipped out that night. You should have them the next morning.

If you are using Magical Express you can use your bands to check in so make sure you pack them in your carry on if you are flying.

This is the thing a lot of us hate. Yes, you will have to cancel and rebook using whatever inventory is available same day. But they have not made this available to AP holders yet unless you have a resort reservation. We are expecting that AP holder will be able to book in advance same as resort reservation holders. Hoping we will see it roll out for December.

If our resort is scheduled for Magic+ when we go, what do we need to do?

As someone just posted, all resorts are expected to be live as of December 1... however the system has not caught up and has not issued invitations to everyone who arrives December 1 as of today. Maybe we will see it roll out slowly through December as it did for October and November.

You should see an email invitation (but not everyone does), and, see "customize magicbands" appear as an option in MyDisneyExperience as early as 60 days ahead or at least a few weeks ahead (it has been inconsistent). You select colors for each person in your reservation and then they ship to you (in the US) or will be available for pick up at the resort.

Ability to reserve FP+ should likewise open up as early as 60 days ahead,or you must keep watch in your MDE account for the ability or the invitation will tell you what date you can start making the FP+ reservations.

According to TouringPlans.com MyMagic+ will be fully rolled out by December 1st.....

http://blog.touringplans.com/2013/09/30/mymagic-magicband-roll-dates-walt-disney-world-resorts/

This is the only place we've seen this stated, even Disney won't say when you talk to them. I think this statement will only mean fully rolled out to those with WDW resort reservations.

To go fully live, MyMagic+ must complete these steps:

roll out to passholders... although we could see this December 1, we should have seen it today if they were on schedule with 60 day advance FP+ reservations.

roll out to non-Disney resort guests... to do that the full inventory of FP+ needs to be loaded for same-day access and guide maps and signs updated to instruct people how to get FP+. And Disney has been tight-lipped about how same day FP+ is going to work. (Wait.. I am getting a vision... of chaos)

And of course legacy FP must be shut down!

How many days before your trip starts can you start to reserve fast passes?

How many days before your trip starts can you start to reserve fast passes?

Right now during the test it has been varying. It seems most people have access when they have about mid-20s days to go.

We got the bands but we're not using them for FP+. We have tickets from UT and given the number of problems reported linking UT tickets to the MDE profile, I decided to say "Thanks, but no thanks." I'll keep my tickets separate from my band and just use legacy FP during our trip.

Are you able to reserve a Fastpass at two different resorts? We like to park hop. For example, I would like to reserve a Fastpass at AK for Everest and the safari then go over to the MK later that day and get one for BTMR and SM.

Is that even possible?
How many can you get in a day?

Thank you!

From the FastPass+ FAQ:
Q. How many FastPass+ selections for attractions and entertainment am I allowed to make during my entire vacation?

A. The total number of FastPass+ experiences available to you during your visit depends on several factors including availability and the vacation packages and tickets linked to your Disney account. Generally, FastPass+ eligible Guests are able to select one set of FastPass+ experiences each day for every valid theme park ticket linked to their account.

Depending on availability, you should be able to make up to 3 FastPass+ selections for attractions and entertainment each day at one theme park.

Over the coming months, FastPass+ service is being tested with a limited number of pre-selected participants. We know that many Guests want to give FastPass+ a try, and we ask for your patience during this testing period. In the meantime, same-day FASTPASS service will be available for all other Guests.

ParrotBill.....I am under the impression that magic bands will not be made available to non-Disney resort guests (am assuming you mean those staying off-property). I was thinking this is another way to have people stay on-property.

And so far you are only able to make 3 fastpass+ reservations per day and ONLY at one park. I was told this may change. So you can't reserve space mountain and Fantasmic on the same day. I'm excited that Fantasmic is available for fastpass plus, as we have no been able to get in on our last few trips.

I also noticed that Wishes is not available all the time.....yet. although I noticed today that the parade was available on a day that it previously wasn't. I had also been told to check the MDE site for my days, as they may or may not add shows, parades, etc.

I don't really see Disney doing away with legacy fastpass....not everyone is computer savvy or has an i-phone and all that. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next year.

Off-site guests using MYW tickets will be given the opportunity to purchase a MagicBand if they wish. If they don't purchase a MagicBand, they will use a RFID enabled MYW ticket instead.
