When I was at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in October there were no napkin hats. The napkins had also changed. The managed happened to be standing near our table so I asked him and he said it got expensive for the becuase so many people took the hats home with them and they wanted to do something different. Well, my daughter was really disappointed.

Anyone go recently and know if they are or are not doing it?

I am going to bring some bandanas for my DD so she can have a hat, she still talks about not having one last time!

I always thought that eventually the hat making would come to an end. They lose lots of napkins that way. I've seen parties of 8 walk away and each have a couple of napkins on their head. I always wondered why they didn't just leave them after they took a photo. I can see a kid wanting to keep them, and I love to keep free stuff, but no idea what i'd do with three napkins. I bet if you bring them for your daughter someone might be able to make her a hat.

That is too bad, the napkins cost pennies so I didn't ever think it would be that big of a deal. We never took them but if someone did, the food could be raised a few cents to cover the cost.

It was something I really loved you would walk in and everyone would be sitting there in some weird hat made of napkins and straws.

We will be bringing bandanas!

The colorful napkins are now gone and replaced with plain color napkins. Glad I have a couple at home. Didn't see any hats in December and very little antics going on too. Peope got catsup with no hassle.

There was talk about selling the bandanas for a few dollars a piece at the podium if you wanted a hat but we haven't seen that happen yet.

We were there for lunch in December. My son asked for spoon, and the waitress stomped off only to bring him a 5 foot wooden spoon. I had not said anything to the kids about what went on at WC just in case nothing happened. They also had their napkins thrown on the table with the straws to follow. Kids were told to "pass them around." They did pony races. Men stood up and sang "I'm a Little Tea Pot" with of course all the actions. Kids had to stand up and pledge to eat all their food, give all their desserts to their moms, and also to never, ever, go to Universal. Other people were celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. They had to endure some teasing. Tons more stuff. My family loved the place. They have it on the list of things to do when we go back.
