We are looking at getting a new stroller before our trip to WDW in the fall for our DD, she is 15 months old today! She is a big girl (tall), she weighs about 27 pounds. We currently have the Graco Metrolite which has been great. We bought the travel system and have loved it. However, it still is a bit large for traveling and we are looking for more of a lightwieght stroller that is sturdier than an umbrella stroller but folds up like one. I have looked at the Maclaren, Combi, Peg Perego, etc. in the store and am still not quite sure which one I like the best. None of them seemt o come with cup holder trays, which is o.k., we are just used to having one.

So, are the Maclaren strollers worth the money? Are they comfortable? Which style of Maclaren would you suggest or what other stroller would you suggest? Thank you!

We bought the Maclaren Triumph for our 43lb, 44inch DD (4). We love it! I look at it this way, you would pay the same amount of money renting a stroller and when you are finished with the Maclaren, you could probably sell it on ebay and get at least 1/2 what you paid for it back. It is lightweight, easy to push, easy to carry, folds up nice. The only disadvantage is the basket underneath is not very convenient to get to and the no cupholder. We bought the Maclaren Universal organizer and it has storage and 2 cupholders. The only problem is they are velcro straps that come undone if you put too much stuff in the bag area so DH tied some of those plastic ties. Also, it can tip backwards if you put too much stuff in the organizer and you don't have any weight in front. It was well worth the $120 we spent for the stroller and $20 for the organizer for us. DD fell asleep several nights and we didn't have to carry her which was nice. Good luck with your choice!

Thank you so much for your advice! Can you tell me where you bought the stroller? I have only seen them at Babies R Us. Thanks!

Check every morning these days with toysrus.com summer sale 75% off. Deals included $25 maclaren volo and $50 maclaren quest (today - I think all gone by now).

Shipping is very cheap, but they go quickly.

I live in Canada, so I don't have a way to buy one, but all of you americans lucky enough to have access to these deals should jump on them. Check early in the morning before they sell out.

good luck

Thank you so much! I am definitely going to do that! Hey, where do you live in Ontario? I grew up in Fort Erie, my parents live there!

We got the Quest for DD after one trip to Disney with the big travel stroller. It has been WELL WORTH the money. I don't know what the official differences between the Triumph and the Quest are but it seemed to us the seat on the Quest was "deeper" than the triumph. The volo doesn't recline and getting it now for your DD I would definitely think the recline feature would be worth the extra money. Also - to combat the tipping problem I bought some ankle weights from WalMart and just attached them to the front two legs. It works great. It adds a little weight carrying it but is definitely worth it for it not to tip over every time she jumped out. I got ours at albeebabay.com.

I got ours at Albeebaby as well. I bought a Triumph in Gold Flag. It was reg. $159. and on sale for $109. We just got it today and I was practicing in the living room. It is really easy to fold up, recline, etc. :)

Yes, Yes, Yes...we love ours. We also found it to be perfect if you are on the taller side (I'm 5'8, DH is 6'2). The handles are perfect for us! We love how compact it is to fold up and that it has the carrying strap included. Worked perfectly at Disney!

We bought our Maclaren Triumph for $119, free shipping at babydealz dot com. We bought the organizer for $19.99, free shipping at babyandmeboutique dot com (I Think). I would just do a search and see where you can find the best deal. At the time, I found the best deals at these websites. Good luck!

Yes!! Ours has been through 2 rough and tumble children and still looks and works great! I cannot say the same for the Graco stroller we bought for our older son. While not as expensive as our Maclaren, it was the top of the line Graco at that time. First the storage bag ripped off the bottom (and we seldom used it and certainly never overloaded it -- it just kept catching when the stroller was folded), then the light-colored outside got dirty and couldn't be cleaned, then a wheel popped off while we were touring DC. (Dh then "popped" that stroller in the first available trash can; and we've never looked back!!) In addition to being sturdy, our Maclaren (a double) is quite lightweight when compared to others.

Oohhh.....I forgot to mention it's very easy to clean too. Just pop everything off - pop in the wash on gentle and air dry. Good as new!

:rotfl: :rotfl: Yes, yes, yes! They handle better than anything else...you can even steer them with one hand. I've had 3 maclarens and I love them! My almost 5-year old (yes, lazy, I know) still sits in one for long shopping trips. Try eBay. You can often get last year's model, brand new, for like half the going rate. I was so bummed about missing the Toys R Us deal! I don't need one, but for those prices I swear I would have bought a 4th :rotfl:

Yes! :) Like the other poster said, especially if you are tall. I don't have to slouch down to push. It's wonderful and it handles great. Plus super easy to fold up quickly.

I have an older Volo that did not have the canopy. I bought a new Volo for our last trip to WDW just so I'd have the canopy. I figured it was a huge bargin compared to renting one of the Disney strollers. I agree with everything posted above, super lightweight, extremely easy to manuver with one hand, folds down easily and has a nice little carry strap. The new ones come with a really nice rain cover - our one rainy day at WDW all the parents were looking enviously at my completly dry child under her rain fly. I carry stuff in a backpack so I don't usually have too much in the basket. We do have the Universal Organizer that I keep the rainfly in, and it holds water bottles - not coffee very well but I do use it for that in a pinch.

So to answer your question, I love my Maclaren and recommend them to everyone!
