Are the kids too young?

My kids are 5, 4 and 1. My husband and I haven't been to WDW since the admission was $56! Imagine our surprise when we saw what the tickets are now! LOL

Anyway - the kids are only 5, 4 and 1. Are they too young to do a one day trip over the 4th of July weekend? (Hubby's birthday is 7/5) and we were going to use the "free day" certificate for him that day.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't think they're too young, but I personally wouldn't take 3 little kids on a VERY crowded, hot day, and pay for 1 day. I'd wait unti I had more time, because after about 5 days or so, the tickets are like $10 a day.

No one is too young to go to Disney. We have gone over the 4th of July many times and it is crowded, but 1 day at Disney is much more fun than none. So long as you aren't planning on going gun ho and want to hit every single thing, I say go and have fun. Your kids (and you) will have a blast!

Not too young , but hte 4th of July is probably not the best choice of times to go. It is brutally hot and humid,Mk often closes for capacity too.

Ditto. July 4th weekend isn't the ideal time to introduce your kids to WDW. It will be swarmed with people and HOT. Get their feet wet on a less crowded time.

ITA... I think that you will not have a lot of fun on a hot and very, very crowded day. I would skip until you can go at a later date

I completely agree with the PP's about the heat and crowds over July 4th. I'm not sure how close you are to WDW, but perhaps you could do a day trip or a 1 night stay and go to a character meal outside of the resort and play at the resort pool.

Edited to add: outside of the heat and crowds, your kids are great ages to go to WDW. My DS started going at 18 months and loved it. You just have to take it at their pace. It's so much fun to experience it through their eyes for the first time.

So...you'd be paying for 3 people, for one day, in one park? Your DH uses birthday pass and baby is free?

I'm going to be the odd one out and say do it.

If you DON'T try to see it all in one day, and have a TON of patience....I say go for it!!!! Just prepare yourself for crowds and the heat. And definitly set a game plan for the day so time isn't wasted. Yes...it's alot of money for one day...but...think of the memories you and your kids will have!!!

My DH and I have some of the best memories from a 2 day trip we took with our daughter when she was a mere 10months old. We went on maybe 2 rides the whole time but seeing our daughter look at the attractions and interact a bit with the characters....totally priceless!!!! It was an expensive trip....but well worth it and we have NO REGRETS.

Go with a good, positive attitude and enjoy yourself!

I agree. Many years ago we went over the 4th. Ours was a week long, planned trip so things went really well. We had one 5 year old with us. I wouldn't do a last minute, one day trip with three little ones. People who do that are the ones that we know who return home and say, "never again!"

Wait and plan several days in the Fall or Spring or even next Summer. Do a lot of reading so that you knpw how much WDW has changed- not just in cost.

Your kids are NOT too young, in my opinion they are great ages to go to Disney. July 4 will be super crowded and hot...but if thats the day your hubby can get in free then go for it! If it wasnt his "free day" I would say to definitly wait until another time but since he's free dont pass it up!

You could also just wait until it your "free day" when is your b-day?

Godd Luck
