Are the hairdryers really that bad?

The hairdryers are adequate for us. (More so for me, as Homer Simpson and I have about the same amount of hair!) I have used the dryer to help dry out wet sneakers...I kid you not. The only problem we have had with the dryer is when I stumble in the bath at nite, with the lights out and accidently knock the dryer out of its socket...turning it on at 3am. I know, I'm a clutz. :lmao:

Hope you have a great cruise, and try not to overpack.

I bring my own, but mostly because I need styling control!

My hair is short and fine, though very thick in the back. Once I've blasted it for a minute or two to get off the heavy moisture, I need a slow, medium setting to work with my round brush to get any kind of lift or style, otherwise it would dry too fast.

The dryer works fine if you just want to dry your hair. But if you want to style your hair with the hair dryer I'd suggestion you bring your own so, you can have control over the speed and the heat intensity. I have very thick hair so, I just bring my flat iron to work out what the dryer couldn't do. I try to limit my luggage packing space and a dryer is one of the first things I tossed.

I am another that brings her own - I prefer the control as well as the ability to dry my hair at the desk.

No issues with the dryer here. I have medium length, thick hair, takes a long time to dry.

And in that Caribbean humidity that control is probably gone 15 minutes after you step outside.

bring your own! They are awful! and you will have to dry your hair in front of the mirror (kinda where the vanity is) but for me it was much easier...wasn't banging my elbows every time I moved my arms.
good luck... :goodvibes

I wonder if it depends on the room. I had no issues at all and I was on the 15 day Repo. My 2 DD's and I have long , thick hair and had not issues at all. I was very glad I did not pack my own.

I didn't find it too hot. It was adequate. It wasn't wonderful. It wasn't horrible. Does my hair dryer from home work better, yes! Does the Disney dryer work as well as other hair dryer in hotels, probably. I used it twice. I did bring mine from home. When crunched for time, I used mine from home. When we had plenty of time, I used theirs.

But also keep in mind, I hate drying my hair! I dry it for 5-6 minutes tops. Wherever it is at that point, it's done.
I'm with you. I hate drying my hair now...I'll do what I can to stop it dripping and what will be will we.

Yes they are REALLY bad.
They are the really old fashioned cheap hotel type.
But I don't bother taking my own anywhere now...It will take the space from a Stitch toy!
