Are the crowds more than normal in early December?

I have been trying to get a reservation for Dec 14-Dec 19 and WDW Reservations says there are no value rooms left and limited moderates. I am trying to plan a surprise trip for my 5 yr old and 7 yr old-we were just there in October and I wanted to squeeze in one more trip before our a/p expire so I am trying to watch the cost. In the UOG it lists early December has having a crowd level of 1. I am trying to figure out what is going on. I've tried the AAA site and it lets you go all the way to entering your payment info then kicks you back to no rooms available. Does anyone know any other sites for getting a room? Two days ago I was looking for a value resort for December 14-18. There was no availability online, so i called disney direct and got the same answer. I ended up booking CBR. Yesterday morning, I was curious to see if there happen to be any value availability for december 14. To my amazement, there was. I immediately called wdw and was promptly switched to POP saving me $140. My advice would be to check early in the morn (i did this at 7am) to see if maybe there were any value resort cancellations. My UG for 2006 says: 2005 Dec 14 (4) 15 (4) 16 (6) 17 (5) 18 (6)

I don't know off hand of any groups, but I also know that the word is out that this was the time to go and now i think it is getting more crowded. We tried to make ADR for LeCellier and they were sold out for the night!

The problem is probably the Friday and/or saturday nights - bet the weekdays are available. Lots of locals like to stay/come for a weekend to see the decorations and attend some of the holiday events.
