Are the coasters smooth?

IMO most every coaster in WDW is pretty smooth if I'm comparing it to wooden coasters (something like Cedar Point's Mean Streak - that is a very large wooden coaster).

Edited to add: It's really sad about Space Mountain. The one at Disneyland is extremely smooth. In fact, its my favorite ride at Disneyland. So...Disney could make it a better ride if they choose to.

They could. But at what cost to guests?

On July 15, 2005 (with "soft openings" starting July 1), only two weeks before Disneyland's official 50th Anniversary, Space Mountain reopened from a major refurbishment that started in April of 2003.

OVER 2 years of it being closed for that refurbishment.


Disney Parks would be better served to change the theming and the name of one of the Space Mountains so that people don't expect the same ride from coast to coast. Because it really isn't the same ride.
