Got a coupon with my Disney Visa statement today for 20% off the cost of any of the 'behind the scenes' tours at WDW. I'm tempted to book, but would like to hear from the DIS experts who have been on any of the tours. Please share what tour you've done and if you feel it was a worthwhile experience. BTW, we'd be doing this tour in July (if weather makes a difference in how we'd enjoy the tour) just DH and myself!

Thanks!:D

DH and I have only done one behind the scenes tour and it was Keys to the Kingdom. We both believed it was worth it. Its about hours and they serve you a nice lunch. There is alot of walking involved and we got to go behind frontierland and see the parade floats, the back of Splash Mountain and Pirates, and also into the casting/costume buildings. We got to go underground to the tunnels also. Being a Disney nut I really liked it as I learned SO many new things. Things that most people wouldnt know...

When the time comes we decide to do another tour (and financially be able to do it) we would do the Backstage Magic which is 7hours and they take you to MK, Epcot, and MGM. From what I have heard that is wonderful also but its 200.00 per person. Someday...

Anyway, whatever you decide I am sure you will enjoy it. Have fun!

I did behind the Scenes tour in August 1999 and I loved every thing about it. We got to go behind the scenes in Epcot to see some rides and how they work including American Adventure, the similator ride (Cant remember the name at this moment) and the Living Sees we went in to see the Manatees. We then went to MGM and got to see an animator and then paint a cell. Then we had lunch at Mama Melrose and had a character join us. She was so funny. Then when we got back on the bus she broke character and answered questions abotu being a Cast Member in the entertainment area of Disney. Then we went to Magic Kingdom and saw a lot of things underground and then we saw the machines that run everything. Then we saw the parade start and the machine/computer that tracks it all and we got to pop into a back gate and see a bit of the parade to see what we saw on the screen. It was about 7 hours and I loved everything about it. It costed a couple hundred dollars and to me it was worth it. I rarely say anything is worth that much money too.

In addition to Backstage Magic, discussed above, we've done the Segway experience in Epcot and the Backstage Safari in AK. Riding the Segways around World Showcase was a blast and the Backstage Safari took us into the elephant house, the food preparation area, and the animal hospital, among other areas. Backstage Safari also takes you on a special version of the safari ride.

We enjoyed all three tours and recommend them.
