We are flying SWA Nov 1st and Nov 11th. I am usually done checking by now to see if flights dropped in price. But, this yr we booked the first flight out and decided we would like to take the 1pm flight on Nov 11th, instead of getting up at 5am to catch ME.
So my question is, do you think flights will have any chance of still dropping in price? Right now to come home is $359, way more then what we pd for the 9am flight.
I don't know when flights stop dropping because I am not usually still looking this close to leaving. Any info would help me, I am on way too much checking the flight prices... ughhhh..

TIA

There is no way to know for sure. Is the flight full (or nearly so)? If so, I wouldn't anticipate a price drop. If there's lots of seats available, they would probably (IMO) drop the price to fill the seats.

Bummer, I didn't think of it that way. I went back to SWA and act if I was purchasing 8 tickets and all the flights I would have looked out said sold out. So I guess that means they don't have 8 seats left, on the flight. At least I can stop stalking the website now.

I'd keep checking. I think they hold back seats at higher tier pricing. And if they aren't selling, they open up more seats at the lower price.

It won't hurt to occasionally check Southwest, as long as you will be able to use any credit you can get for a price drop.

I am addicted :rotfl: I can't stop looking. I guess I'll be checking until I see the sold out notice.:rotfl2:

They drop prices when they have empty seats to fill, there's no guarantee it will happen. I remember one time I watched a flight from the day it came out and it never dropped, only went up. On the day of the flight, it was sold out, which means everyone gave in and paid it.

I noticed your dates are right around Jersey week and Veterans Day weekend and you are from NJ. The flight is probably high demand.

If you are going jersey week they are probably not getting any better. We priced the end of September and then jersey week. Te same flight was double during jersey week.

That's what I have been thinking. Don't get me wrong we got great price for what flight s we did choose. We decide to fly to Tampa for the lower price of $124. Never once did Philly get that low to go to MCO. I kept checking but the flight to go sold out, but I am happy with going to Orlando, at least we will have a car to stop and shop for food. We will miss ME though everyone is sad about that.
Coming home we finally got our price at $147 the lowest I have ever seen from MCO to PHL. But, of course now my DH says I am not going to go to work that day, so get our flight later :furious: WHAT! I asked him, are you sure you want to work the day we come home he says , YES! So I book the first flight out which means ME will pick us up at 6am, not even enough time to go to the Bakery for coffee. Then weeks later he comes to me and says, Nah, I am not going to work get a later flight.:furious: Does he thinks the airlines sit around and wait for him to decide on flights. Now they are $359, So I told him, if we get up at 4:30 to get ME at 6 your butt is getting to work when we get home. He can't believe I am telling him he has to work now :rotfl:....MEN!
