We have booked to go to a couple of dinner shows. One of them includes free beer so obviously none of the men want to drive us there from our villa!!!!
We have been told we will be staying about 10mins away from WDW and there is 7 of us - would we be able to get a taxi there and back?

Thanks!!!!

It is possible to get the yellow cabs (which you will see all around WDW). However, in our experience, they are only used to driving around WDW and the tourist landmarks. If you want to get one from WDW back to your villa, no problem, but the other way around is not so easy. We have had trouble on several occasions with them not being able to find our villa.

The best option is to look for a private hire firm located near the villa. There will almost certainly be local Yellow Pages directories at the villa and most owners/management companies also leave a file of useful information which may include telephone nos of local taxi firms. When you phone you will need to explain that you need a van.

The cost naturally depends on the distance/duration of the journey. Most trips between the villas we've stayed at and destinations on WDW property have been around the $30-$35 mark, plus tip.

I would agree with Deb, the prices aren't too bad ( compared to London taxis certainly :o) and getting to a destination, if you know where you're going, is no problem. Getting a taxi to collect you from your house isn't always as easy. If you live within walking distance of a hotel it might be workable to all drive to that hotel and get taxis from there , leaving the car in the car park for one member of the group to go collect the car the following morning.

You can't have 7 passengers in a normal taxi; that would be 8 people counting the driver. I suggest contacting a limo service, such as FL Tours, to find out what they suggest.
