Are tables for 8 circular or long?

I can't remember, we had a table for six last time. We are in the same section for dinner as friends, but our family will be at a table for four. Would it be possible to pull our table together with a table for 6 or 8? Thanks!

Either. We were seated at a table for 8 on our November 6 cruise. In Parrot Cay and Lumiere's we were at a long table, in Animators we had a round table. So not only can it vary by party, it can vary by restaurant.

OK, how about the tables for six. They are always long, right?

We've cruised as a party of 9 and all three times had a large table. First and third cruise the table was rectangular. The second cruise the table was oval. As a suggestion, why not link your reservation with your friends so you'll all end up at a larger table? Just a thought. :D

We were a party of 6 and our table shapes varied according to restaurant, just like jel0511 mentioned. I liked the different shaped tables, and rotating through the restaurants because dinner never got boring from being at the "same old table, same old restaurant" like we've had on other cruise lines. I love the way DCL has set up their restaurants :)

I second what TootyJane said; link your reservations with your friends and then you won't have to worry about pushing tables together (if they'd even allow that). :)

I also think you should have your reservations linked so you'll be seated together. Just because you're on the same cruise doesn't mean you'll get the same dining rotation, or even be seated next to each other. And if you do get seated next to each other, you might not be able to "pull" the tables together because you could be in different server sections. Call your TA and have your friend call their TA. Give each other your confirmation numbers and you can have the reservations linked. This way, you'll be assured of sitting together.

Since Diana hasn't popped back over here, I think the reason she's asking is for a really large group of us 12/18 cruisers. There are several groups linked, and I think we're at 3 tables of 8. She's probably trying to figure out how to work the family seating.

Okay Diana, thump me if I'm wrong!

No thumping here, Lisa. Yep, we're all linked. The sections they have for us have tables for 8, 6, and 4. So someone had to sit "alone". I'm hearing they won't pull tables together either. Seems like they would at least try, doesn't it, to help their tips? Anyway, I think we've got it worked out.

One thing to keep in mind is that DCL, being Disney, spent a lot of time and effort on the table arrangements to ensure the best flow of traffic for both passengers and the servers. It is not that they don't want to be accomodating to your requests, it is that they have developed a scheme which is the best for everyone.

Hope you guys have a blast!
