Are SSR add ons available through Disney?

We are in ROFR for our first DVC contract at SSR. We are already thinking of buying a 50 point add on at SSR to make sure we have enough to cover a 2010 vacation in a GV. I am reading this board, and I'm thinking if I buy the 50 points through Disney, I can finagle a bonus 50 points depending on how the UY falls and if I get the timing right.

Having said all that, I also heard that only AKV and BLT are available for purchase through Disney. Is that just true of bigger point contracts? Can I still buy smaller points through Disney?

We just added on 100 points to our contract at the beginning of the month for $93/ pt.

You can purchase points at any DVC resort directly from Disney. They only offer purchase incentives for the resorts that are not "sold out" (SSR, AKV, BLT, GCV) but all resorts are available for purchase. If you wanted BCV you would probably have to go on a waiting list but points are generally available for the other resorts with either no wait or a very short wait.

Yes. SSR is not sold out because DVC began to sell new inventory for the Treehouses. They do have points for SSR.

Add-ons thru DVC will have the same Use Year as your master contract and you will also get points from the current Use Year as well as another allotment when your Use Year begins again. If you have a September Use Year and purchase another 50 points right now, you would get 50 points from the September, 2008 Use Year and also have another 50 available on September 1, 2009.

If you have a June Use Year, you would get 50 points from the current Use Year and another allotment on June 1, 2010.
