This is a random question....but are sofa beds at the DVC resorts comfy? My parents and I just bought 150 pts. at SSR this past month. As a signup bonus, we got 150 more. We are planning on staying 7 nights in a studio at SSR, 3 nights in a deluxe inn room at VBR and then coming back to WDW for 6 nights in a 1-bedroom vacation home at BWV. Where ever we are, someone will sleep in a sofa bed. Just wondering how comfortable they are......

Seems I'm always stuck on the sofa bed while my kids get the master. After I long day in the parks, the sofa bed works just fine. It doesn't bother me one bit. Good luck.

We will be staying at SSR for the first time in December, and I've heard that their sofa beds are wonderful - they're different than the rest of the DVC resorts. My two boys sleep on the sofa beds, and don't really complain about them.

I second havencruiser's opinion on the SSR sofa beds. We were there in January 2005 -- DD slept on the sofa bed, but I got to put her to bed a few nights and often fell asleep on the bed while we reviewed the day's activities and planned for the next day. No complaints about the SSR sofa beds -- I'm sure my DW wished I had stayed on the sofa bed all night long, but the king size bed in the MBR is even more comfortable.

The ones in the BCV studios are terrible. One person on them can wiggle to get comfy, but two people will be pretty sad.

This year we are bringing a twin air mattress so only one of us has to use the pullout couch. I think it is a bummer than a room which supposedly sleeps four really sleeps two and tortures the other two.

About two years back they were supposedly replacing all the sleeper sofas at the DVC's with "newfangled " comfy sleepers but we have never seen a good one at OKW, VWL or BCV.

Thank goodness for Aerobeds!

The sofa beds at BWV are not too bad.. Just hit and miss, you might get a good one in one room, and a bad one in another room.

The ones we had at BWV this time were OK, my DD (13), slept on it, and no problems. One night I laid down on it, and it felt ok to me...

We returned earlier this week from Sartoga Springs. My daughter and her friend slept on the sofa bed. My husband and I slept on the King Bed and my other daughter and her friends had the Queen Beds in the 2nd Bedroom. My daughter on the sofa bed complained why didn't she get a comfy bed. One night her friend decided to sleep in the sofa pillows on the floor she said it was more comfortable than the sofa bed.

We are returning in August, just the family in a 1 bedroom. I am thinking of bringing an air matress, but I have not decided yet.

My DS has used the sofa bed at the BCV's and said they are terrible. His back hurt so much I only stay in a 2 bedroon now where we have plenty of beds :confused3

DD (26) has slept on the sofa beds at BCV and at SSR and was very comfortable. And believe me, if there was so much as a pea under the mattress, this princess would be complaining! princess:

My DD slept on the sofa bed at BCV a couple years ago. She said it wasn't that bad. I called housekeeping for one of those egg carton mattress pads. She said it was better with that on it.

My friend, who is a "Pooh sized" person, sleeps on them whenever we go down there and says they are quite comfy for her. And she is kind of fussy about beds, and pillows and softness and comfiness.

Sibarb, yours is the first negative comment I have read about the SSR sofa beds - I'd be interested to know in what way your daughter found it uncomfortable? Was it too hard, too soft etc?

Of course we all like different kinds of beds, so what's comfy to one person will be awful for someone else...

The SSR beds are a memory foam-type mattress. Somr find them too firm, others love them.

We just came back from SSR last week, and I ended up sleeping on the sofa bed for several nights. I found it to be quite comfortable - just as comfortable as the bed. The mattress was nice and firm - I can see if someone likes a soft bed, they might not like the sofa bed, though.
