Are snacks obvious on the menu?

This is our first time using the dining plan :yay:. When you walk up to counter-service stations is it pretty obvious what constitutes a snack? We were surprised (and happy!) to learn that an egg roll in Japan equals a snack. We would have never known had we not seen it here on the boards so we are curious if the menus tell you or if you have to know on your own.

My questions is: Do they break the menus down so you know what you can and can't order as far as snacks?

Thanks!

Yes, they mark all foods covered on the plan on the price board....There is a small symbol (a white/purple box) that will indicate if the food is covered on the plan as a snack or counter-service meal...It is clear and very easy...You will be so happy by all of the choices covered as a snack credit.

Awesome. Thanks for answering so quickly. We were so surprised to learn about the egg roll ~ apparently a snack is much better than we though it would be!! We don't want to miss out on anything good! :)

We love the ice cream sandwich from Sleepy Hallow in the MK...Two warm cookies with a tremedous scoop of vanilla ice cream...We could not believe it was covered on the plan..

With that in mind...Drinks and lots of foods are covered as snacks...Try to use your credits to your advantage...So you may want to pay for a soda or water OOP because they are less than $2 where some snacks on the plan can be around $5.

We've found that snacks are marked pretty well on the menus, but if you aren't sure, ask! I've asked a couple of times and it seemed like the CMs were used to it.

You can check the sticky on the top of this forum to see what other have been able to get as a snack.

The only places we found last year that snacks weren't marked were resort food courts and gift shops.

The boards are marked, but I can't imagine that they have marked everything, as you have said you didn't know something could be used as a snack except that you had heard on here.

IMHO you need to check this thread out: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1683477 This thread lists all those snacks that disboard people have asked if they can have for a snack. The list is long and for resorts and parks. I hardly think they are all advertised! Check the thread out, you will be glad you did! :goodvibes
