DS is flying tomorrow on Southwest and would like to only carry on - nothing checked. (just a weekend) I would like to send some cookies, chips, and gummy snacks for little in the room snacks. It is a high school choir trip. Lots of teens they need food! Will they allow them through security in his carry on? Thanks!!!

More specifically, no liquids, pastes, gels, or creams. Gummi bears are fine. Peanut butter cracker sandwiches (or peanut butter & jelly sandwiches) for example, are fine. Peanut butter or jelly in containers smaller than 3.4 ounces and in your 3-1-1 bag are also fine. Normal-size jars of either product? No.

You didn't ask, but solid antiperspirant in any size, fine. Roll-on, gel, or spray antiperspirant 3.4 ounces or less in your 3-1-1 bag, fine. Full size product in these forms, no. Shampoo bar (solid), fine, as would be a 3.4 ounce bottle of liquid shampoo in your 3-1-1 bag. Full size product, no.

Full-size product = anything larger than 3.4 ounces.

Thanks so much. That helps a lot. Any thought on how to pack a choir robe with out it wrinkling?

Roll it up and have your son hang it up as soon as possible. DD15 has the same problem with her concert band dress next week. I can't believe they're having the kids where long dresses and tuxedos for their performances at WDW.

Lie it flat in an empty carryon with the neck at the top center of the carryon, the arms outstretched and bottom stretched out, etc. Pack everything else on top of it just like that. Then stretch the arms one at a time across it and tuck them in (like a straitjacket would be), then the bottom.

Hang it up as soon as he gets there, and he should (or he and his roommates should) chip in for a bottle of de-wrinkling spray from the hotel gift shop to use on their robes. You spray it on a hanging garment until the thing is damp, then the gravity + spray makes the wrinkles fall out.

Using one of the plastic bags that dry cleaning cones in withtissue paper in the folds workd great. BTW, I think all the rooms have irons.

Thanks to all of you. I think we got it pretty good with the "Straight Jacket" method.

As for the iron :rotfl: hehehe I don't think so! He is 17 and never used an iron in his life! I am picturing a big iron print on the back of this beautiful blue robe! :scared1: I did suggest he hang it in the bathroom while he showers. and the director said she was taking wrinkle release to spray at them as they get on the bus! :rotfl:
