Are there rooms saved for specific promotions?
A lot of hotels are sold out for late fall but if the reduced room rates come out end of August, will they have rooms put aside for those that are quick to jump on the promotion?

If they can sell at a non-discounted rate, they don't need a discount. So, no, they won't hold aside rooms on purpose so that they can get less for them.

Thank you. I just remember last time I booked they said they only hold a certain amount for each deal.
But now that I'm thinking, people will be moving their vacation dates around based on new promotions so things might start popping up if I take the time to search.

Yes, this is true. But they don't hold the rooms in advance of the sale. Once they announce the sale, it only applies to a certain percentage of the rooms - but this is a percentage of the rooms that weren't already booked before the sale starts.

Keep an eye out. Not to get your hopes up but FYI there were recent issues with their booking system displaying wrong availability/no availability information. (I don't know if the issues are resolved at this point.)

THIS is why it is not always advantageous to book a room and then hope to apply a discount at a later date, if one is released. If Disney sees that they have a resort that is filling up with reservations, they aren't going to rush to discount it. As people realize that there is not going to be a discount and start cancelling or changing their reservations, THEN Disney may be inclined to start offering discounts.

I was shocked when I looked today and even the deluxe resorts were 100% booked.
