Just curious, but I am beginning to wonder why we've never gotten our original room requests met. Do the room assigners go down their list for the day alphabetically?
It's just occurred to me that every single time we have checked in to a Disney resort, and now DVC, we get up to the front desk and I ask (politely) if we will be getting the non-smoking, woods view (or whatever) that we've requested. Then I get the blank look, followed by a statement that there are no requests in my file, despite the fact that I always check and re-check our reservation with CRO or Member Services before leaving on vacation. This is followed by a lot of tapping on the computer, and usually a lengthy visit by the Cast Member into a back room. When we do get our room, more often that not, it represents some sort of a trade-off non-smoking, but located right next to a really noisy bus stop; wood's view but disabled-accessible; great view but big fans drying out a soaking wet carpet.
I've never really put it all together before - just chalked it up to the luck of the draw - coincidence or this kind of thing happens to everyone. But it occurred to me this morning to wonder if this may be because the room assigners work alphabetically, and by the time they get to our last name, the more desirable rooms are long gone. I hope that's not it, because unless we change our last name to Aardvark, we will almost never get our requests met!
