Are reservations necessary for Epcot World Showcase (early December trip)?

We are planning on going to Epcot on Monday Dec. 3 and were hoping to decide on a restaurant once we're there. We will be a party of 6. Do you think that's possible or will we need to make ADRs?
Thanks in advance!

I think with the size of your party you will have limited choices of restaurants that can accomodate.

I know its not easy to decide months in advance what you are going to want to eat; but I just find it easier to know I have a location secured.

Realistically, you will probably be able to find something somewhere at some time without an ADR, but don't count on getting to pick a place you'd like to eat or a convenient time.

You might be able to wait for a table that day by splitting up, into 2's and 3's and dining at different places. (Don't know whether you're all adults or a mix of adults and kids.) I don't think a walk in group of 6 is going to have much luck at all, maybe Biergarten.

Yes, I think you will need ADRS. I am going to take a guess and say your walkin options would likely be Marrakesh or Nine Dragons or perhaps Biergarten - but that time of year I wouldn't count on those either. Remember some tables have been set aside for the Candlelight Processional packages.

You may be able to get walk up reservations but they might not be at the restaurants you really want or at the times you want either. The more popular WS restaurants like LeCellier or Rose and Crown probably won't have walk up reservations, but I'm sure you'll be able to find something.

Thank you!! I guess I need to start doing some planning! What restaurants do you suggest with a 2.5 and 4.5 yr old? There are several that look fantastic to me but I just don't see the kids sitting through a drawn out 4 course meal.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

How about the Garden Grill? I bet that would be fun for the kids.

Biergarten, Via Napoli, Teppan Edo

i went to DW for the first time in 2000 and we routinely did walk=ups for meals. Over the years, however, it's become very difficult to do a walk-up and, as was mentioned above, the very popular places that you might really want, are nearly impossible to walk up.

I would love to be able to do it on the fly but if you want something more than a hot dog these days, ADRs are a must.

I have seen it too many times, people walking up and being turned away and the look of shock on their face when they can't get in. Last thing you want is to have to go restaurant to restaurant looking for openings.

Very true, thank you for so much help!!

Id be getting my adr's on NOW !!!! thats about 90 days away and adr's open at 180 days away so alot of people already booked.

I don't have kids but I would think it would be better to have an ADR so you have a guaranteed time and place to eat. Without an ADR they might get restless if you have to spend a lot of time searching for a restaurant with availability and then waiting for a long time for a table.

We are going at the same time and many restaurants are already booked. I did book at 180 days but was trying to make some changes without much luck.

Book now!
