Are refillable mugs worth it?

Not for us, but for some people

One thing to be aware of is that Disney resorts can be very large. The mug refill station is usually near the central pool. So if you drink a lot of pop and spend a lot of time by the pool, it can be well worth it. But if you aren't at your resort much, or if you are, but in your room and your room ends up being a five minute walk to get a soda, you may not get much use out of it.
Excellent point. Thats why we no longer buy the mugs (well we did when we stayed at CR because you can refill 24 hours a day). What I noticed is my then teenage daughters would just grab a soda from the cooler instead of refilling the mug. They would bring back food from food court but would always forget their mugs. That was when the mugs were alot cheaper too. Now if I was to take my daughters (now 22 and 20) plus my DD12 and myself we'd spend over $50 just for the mugs. Instead I buy a couple of 12 packs and bring a cooler. I noticed during a Sept stay in WL they sell coolers (styrofoam). Another idea if you can't bring a cooler is 2 liter bottles they cost about $3 each. Compared to buying seperate drinks for everyone it can save you.

We won't be buying the mugs. We are driving so I can bring drinks with us. Our local grocery store has 2-liters on sale for $1 each, so I am bringing a few. We won't be eating any meals at the resort, except poptarts and muffins for breakfast that I am bringing from home. We will be staying at CSR and I can't imagine walking all the way to the Pepper Market just to get a drink. I think maybe if we were going in the summer and spending time at the pool it might be worth it, but we will be away from the resort a lot and I just don't see how it would be worth lugging a mug around all day. Especially scince we will have the dining plan and can pick up a drink for our snack and with the drinks we will be getting with our meals. I can see where it might be worth it to some people, but not to us.

We loved them-- ate breakfast at our resort each morning, and loved the huge mugs of hot chocolate !! Then, we would usually get a soft drink there at night.

We spent a lot of time at the pool in August at the CR. So we bought the mugs and filled them two or three times every time we were at the pool. Good way to cool off.

We also have one mug from Typhoon Lagoon that we bring along on each trip. We purchase the sticker at TL or BB for refills using the bar code reader all day.

We usually get the mugs. We figure that we come close to paying for them each trip and we get a nice souvenir for the office.

And what exactly can you get, coffee, how about tea??? hot chocolate?? soda, any other drink option????
Believe it or not we got one last trip just as a souvenier, never filled it with anything!!!!
We plan on getting a few this trip--mostly just to bring home, but will be filling them as we are planning a few days around the resort.

How can you find out where you can fill them at the resort you stay at???

TIA!!!!!!! :sunny:

Yes you can fill up at the Marketplace. They had coffee, hot chocolate, soda and diet lemonade. We were there in August and it was great filling up there.
