I just booked the Dolphin at the AP rate of $189 for 4 adults, but was offered the Swan at the same rate. I just wondered why, since the Swan is more at rack rate and also at the Teacher/Govt rate. I know the Swan has queen beds, but have read that the double at the Dolphin are only about an inch smaller as they are larger than a normal full size bed. That is the only difference I can find. Why is the Swan normally more expensive and should I change it to the Swan?

I asked the same question and was told it is because the Swan rooms have been completely renovated.

I found just the opposite for my dates in April '04...The Dolphin was about $30.00 more per night than the Swan! I couldn't figure it out! We booked the Swan.

SISTER hotel properties. The SWAN is completely renovated, thus the recent increase in prices. The Dolphin will be completed over the next 12 months, and then the price will "match" the Swan. Certain prices may differ based upon availability, etc.

Sue...I'm stumped with that one! The Dolphin came in at +$30 over the Swan? Go figure...it's been reported as the opposite since the remodel/renovations were completed. Either way, you can't go wrong! They are both wonderful properties. ;)

The Swan is a Westin and the Dolphin is a Sheraton. Westins tend to be more expensive than its sister hotel as it is considered a bit more upscale. I have heard that Dolphin is going up and can only figure it is because renovations will be done and since WDW is a family oriented place, the Dolphin has more appeal. It does have the 24 hour Tubbi's, arcade, Dolphin Fountain Shop, and the grotto pool is closer. I actually like the Dolphin Lobby much better, and the rooms are slightly bigger than the Swan's although the Swan has two sinks in the standard. The Dolphin is a convention hotel, and I think more of the convention meetings are held there. Maybe they can raise the rate because of that.
