i just looked at the price on the DCL websire for my 11/13/04 cat 7 cruise and the price has jumped $300 since i booked it on 9/10/03. go figure. this cruise is now only 349 days away and the price is going up!!! has anyone else noticed this with there cruise?
DCL prices always go up closer to sail date, there is a rare occassion when some categories do go lower. I was told by a DCL rep. that there are different levels of early booking discounts based upon booking date/sail date.
jilljill i know the price does go up the closer we get but just short of 1 year til my sail date and the price has jumped $300. sounds like they are collectingfor the next ship LOL

yes, our cat 6 has gone up over 300 since we booked in Sept for the June 5 western. I have written DCL about giving discounts to multiple cruisers, but recd the answer to book early. That's why I insist on driving from Lousville...13 hours..
KevinC we also elect to drive from louisville. its cheaper then flying and we can control ohter things of fun. ever sit at DCL dock and watch the magic or wonder come rolling in at 5:30 am? what a sight to see. so quite and wonderful

No never made the arrival into port, but have tried to park around 9:30AM...a little to early I was told. We take two days, leave Thursday after work...we are nice and relaxed for the cruise...and we know our luggage gets there...
We booked a category 10 'secret porthole' room for 2 adults 11/04.
VERY glad I booked early - over $450 'real' savings cat 10 and $950 'virtual' for cat 8 !!!!
The price for our cruise actually went down by $425.00!!!! That savings will cover 2 of our 3 airfares! We booked the Nov. 20, 2004 Magic Thanksgiving cruise when we were on our cruise Jan.2003. We booked the same Cat. 10 secret porthole cabin that we were in on that cruise! After reading this thread I was curious to see how much our cruise had gone up in price, especially since it is an expensive holiday sailing. I punched in our dates on the DCL website and was shocked to see that the price had come down, I didn't believe it so I tried again and got the same cheaper price. I called DCL and was able to get a price adjustment and keep the same cabin!!!! I then called our cruising budies in New York (we met as dinner partners on our first cruise in 2000 and cruised together again Jan. 2003 and are cruising together again Nov. 2004!) to tell them to check and see if the price went down for them. They are Category 6 and the price for them if they were to book now is up by $100.00. So I guess it must depend somewhat on how full a particular category is. Hopefully someone else will have good luck like we did and their price will go down too! It's worth checking into!
I got a quote from DU just before Thanksgiving. I miss the deadline to respond (within a week). Ask for the same cat. again Friday after Thanksgiving and is now $400 higher for the 4 of us.
It's unreal isn't it? I had family on Thursday that was interested in going on the cruise with us and I told them they had to book now if they were gonna go cause prices were going up! Well they went up! Don't know if they are gonna book or not but at least they will FINALLY understand why I booked in October 2004 for November 2004.
