Are PJs Allowed in Parks?

We’ll be in the parks on Halloween, but don’t have party tickets. My adult children were wondering if they’re allowed to wear their two-piece black skeleton pajamas to the parks. Is that allowed?

Below is what I was able to find:
  • "Costumes must be family-friendly and not obstructive, offensive, violent or objectionable. Costumes must not contain weapons that resemble or could be mistaken for real weapons. Costumes may not contain sharp or pointed objects, or materials that might accidentally strike another guest."
Bottom line, as long as they are not too graphic or revealing (adult natured), I think they would be fine.

The official Disney site has a section that talks about attire that is appropriate for Halloween. People sometimes only read part of that and take it out of context when talking about what to wear at the parks at other times of the year.

Everything I’ve seen on the Disney website references the Halloween Party, which we will not be attending. The kids just wanted to wear the skeleton pajamas to whatever park we visit that day, which probably will be Magic Kingdom during the day and possibly another park after.

I don’t see anything wrong with this. The regular costume non party rules apply and I think PJs are fine.

I feel like it would be fine to wear to the MK. The CM’s will probably just assume you’re staying for the party.

I don't think you will have a problem with a Disney dress code. Kids wear costumes all year round at the parks. A couple of skeleton PJs on Halloween isn't going to raise an eyebrow.

However, wearing black in the Florida sun can get pretty hot. You might want to bring a change of clothes just in case they get uncomfortable.

There will be plenty of guest with costumes ALL DAY long on Halloween. You will even see people in the 30th.
Really everyday there is a Halloween party. There would be more if it wasn't so HOT.

We wore Disney Christmas PJs to the Christmas party last year - I know you aren't going to the party, but I don't think it makes a difference. If they are two piece PJs, they just look like sweatpants and long-sleeve shirts - no one will bat an eye. As PP noted, however, they might be really hot in PJs - they were pleasant on a December evening - summer/fall in FL, maybe not.

Thanks for all the feedback. I didn't realize it would still be that hot at the end of October. I'm glad it's an option for them, but we'll have to play it by ear with the weather.

You never know what FL weather will do.

We went once the week leading up to a Friday Christmas. Orlando set more than one heat record that week. We're talking low-100s nearly every day. We even heard CMs complaining the weather was NOT normal.

Those PJs might be very comfy, even a bit chilly.

My adult children

According to Disney's website NO, your adult children cannot wear costumes at any park.
  • Proper attire, including shoes and shirts, must be worn at all times. The parks are a casual, family-oriented environment. Ensuring that the parks are family-friendly is an important part of the Disney experience. In that spirit, we ask you to use your discretion and common sense. Inappropriate Attire Disney reserves the right to deny admission to or remove any person wearing attire that is considered inappropriate or attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. Attire that is not appropriate for the parks—and which may result in refusal of admittance—includes but is not limited to: Costumes and costume masks, which may not be worn by Guests 14 years of age or older. link
It doesn't matter if it's Halloween, 4th of July or Christmas.
Still, people do whatever they want and whatever they're comfortable with despite Disney's dress code. I hope your adult children whatever they wear have a great time! :flower3:

Normally late October is fairly comfortable, or at least it used to be when I lived in Orlando years ago lol. Having said that, we went in 2020 and it was HOT, like in the 90s, and humid, every single day of our 10 day trip. :scared:

Lots of people go to the park all day and then the party. It seems to be the only time they look the other way with what people are wearing that day.

But if they are just pajamas I wouldn't necessarily say they are a costume, just clothes with bones printed on them.
