Are personal water bottles allowed?

The first day we brought water bottles. But, it was so easy to get large cups of ice water, we stopped carrying in our own water bottles. The ice water was much more refreshing. Dh carried our back pack and it had a camelback in it...but, the ice water from Disney was still better. We didn't find we had to wait in long lines for it either...we were there the first week of August, so it was crowded.

So you didn't have to wait in the food ordering lines to get the water? Did you just go up to the pick up area and ask?

Also are there drinking water fountains around the world? i don't remember seeing any.

You can get chilled filtered water at any water fountain. I take an empty water bottle, fill it with water and use crystal lite to go.

Disney is lucky enough that most people either do not realize it is filtered water to begin with or complain about the taste and buy bottled water because it is what they are used to doing. It is one of the best kept secrets.

baby bidet not thanks.

Yes you wait in line just like you would if you were ordering food or drinks.

I'm not really sure what you mean but Disney likely gives away water and ice because it's better than having people pass out and get sick.

And they do give free water and ice. All you have to do is ask for it. Very easy.

No need to get all tied up in a knot. I'm sure they do give it out but the question and subsequent statements were that they would fill up your personal water bottle and that's the part that I think is iffy. Depends on where you go, who you ask and any number of other things. I just don't think that you can depend on that happening. Giving you a cup of water, yes, I'm sure they will. However, there is water from fountains available all over the park...that pretty much fulfills their requirement along the free hydration path.

We just picked up water "bobbles" from Old Navy. The have a filter built in and is the equivalent of 300 bottles of water. I can't drink warm water so this allows me to fill from a water fountain. DH needs to drink a lot of water as he gets sun stroke/exhaustion easily and this is going to save us some dollars. We do pick up bottled water and keep it in the room as well but this gives us fresh during the day. No BPAs in them either. Never had a problem bringing a water bottle as long as its plastic in before. Just no straws at AK.

I highly recommend a 21 oz Hydroflask for use in the parks. We take ours everywhere!

One of the previous posters touched on this but I think it's worth expanding. We always buy a water bottle belt clip, they're just a couple of bucks each in the camping section of Wal Mart and similar stores. We grab individual flavor packets of several drink mixes such as lemonade, ice tea, etc. It keeps us from having to nasty taste of Florida water while still managing to keep us hydrated.

There are water fountains all around the parks if you look for them.

Didn't know about the ice water thing though, sounds like a good one to add in to the mix.

Which is why you should not completely rely on the information that you just received. Disney wants to make money as well, they aren't exactly listed as a charity. It cost them to produce the ice and it cost them to have water there, so I am not sure why they would be overjoyed about giving away stuff that they have for sale. Just saying.

Sooty but that is incorrect. Disney gives free water and ice, and so does universal studios. It's filtered tap water but free water.
