I would be interested to hear from people who have got their passports back in the last week or so. How long from application to delivery?
I applied for a renewal using the new online system (where you fill in all the details online and pay with your card online, print off the deceleration form, sign it and send it all off with your photos). Mine has been away two weeks and the online tracking still says 'Declaration received - processing'.
Would be really interested to hear if people are getting renewals back in the three week period or not.
Many thanks

I did mine this way it took 6 weeks

I did the online system for me and DD - both were renewals. Sent them in the middle of May, they took three weeks two days, one arriving the day after the other.

ds's took just over 4 weeks, it came yesterday. I just filled it in and sent it off myself, I never used the post office service

I did my online renewal two weeks ago. Sent it recorded delivery on the Monday. The following Monday I got a text saying it was be processed, and I got it that Wednesday.

Used the online process over easter and got them back within a week! Think I got in just in time. ESTA's however I did 2 weeks ago and still no word :confused3

Wow, some very different stories here!!!:sad2:
I am lucky in that I do not have anything booked, but we are hoping to have a sneaky last minute at the end of July and have found reasonable flights. However, I dare not book them until I know my passport is safely back!!!!

I read on another forum that a chap had a policy never to book a holiday unless his passport was in date, or he would renew it before he even booked.

It would definitely eliminate the stress doing it that way, but after my mad dash to Liverpool two weeks before we travelled in 2012 after discovering my passport was water damaged, I'm not convinced I'll ever be that organised! ;)

I did DS's first (child's) passport online too. I posted the forms around 22nd May at the latest. Still waiting.

Just in case you are waiting for an email -you don't get an email or anything you have to go back into the site to see if they are approved.
