Are one time use points bankable?

We have 101 points left in our Dec 2017 use year and are kicking around the idea of going down at the end of June to make one last use of our APs before they expire.

I think the reservation will need about 105 points. I don’t really want to borrow those extra few points in case we cancel and decide to bank all the remaining points into the Dec 2018 use year.

I was wondering if I purchased a few of the one time use points and then canceled the reservation, can I then bank them along with my regular points?

I don’t want to lose any points or be forced to use them up before Nov 30, 2018.

Anyone know first hand? Thanks!

You won't be able to cancel or refund your purchase of one-time use Vacation Points, nor will you be able to transfer, bank, or borrow them.

The one time use points will expire at the end of your use year. So if you cancel a reservation with “OTP” then make sure that you use then on a future vacation before the end of you current use year.

Actually , its a VERY rare situation but MS does have the ability to refund the purchase price of OTUP .
We had a situation in 2017 where MS did actually refund our entire purchase price of OTUP directly back to our CC .

Again , it has to be a VERY rare situation , and we actually shocked when we were refunded our $$$ .

........our rare situation for the refund ? Well, she was named IRMA !


Long story short , after having our HHI trip cancelled due to IRMA because the resort was CLOSED , MS refunded our OTUP $$$ back to our CC , and put all our points back into the current UY (not in holding, or locked into a borrowed state) .

Because we still had vacation week to "use up" , we decided to head north to Cape Cod ......and got slammed by JOSE !

I've utilized one time use points on a few occasions and they are definitely not bankable. Member Services will verify this with you when you call to use them.
