Yes they are. But at limit hours. McAlister's Deli is close tomorrow.

I find New Years Day the most boring day of the year, the other I also hate is the 4th of July. Everything is closed, and nothing to do and there's nowhere to go. The gas stations around here are closed (learned that the hard way a few years back trying to get gas on an empty tank on New Years Day!), and the grocery stores are closed. It's like preparing for a blizzard - make sure you get your food and gas beforehand! Can't wait for the holidays to BE GONE!!!!!

yes, a lot of stores close at 6pm though! It seems like the only days stores around here are completely closed are Christmas Day and Easter Sunday (department stores and the mall at least!)

The mall where I work p/t is open today from 10-6. I've worked New Year's Day many times, and we are always busy. Today they are bringing some of us in from 4 until " the work is done " to clean the store because it is so trashed from the holidays.

Everything is open around here-food stores/ department stores all the mall stores...only day they close is Christmas Day and many are closed on Thanksgivng but some are open.

Our local grocery store opened at 9 AM today (usually open 24 hours) and the local mall is open Sunday hours I believe (12 to 6).

Good!!! I need to go hunt down a swimsuit for my 10yodd....Went to Target and she is in the "in-between stage" of girls to Jrs....The 14/16 did not fit her!
Looks like it is time for mall shopping.
