Yup! pretty insane huh? I think this is just the beginning because if we are approved the process will be even more involved. We will have to jump through every hoop during the process. Each and every little thing will have to be approved from the bracing of the second story to the electrical and windows. I think it will be very annoying. However, the improvement we have planned is pretty awesome!

I get a bathroom with a Jacuzzi tub, we have a closet with what they call "his and hers" wings, but they will be hers and hers wings. Fran is going to get a walk in tub like you see on TV and there will be an elevator and a dumb-waiter. Plus there will be a separate wing where Olga can live and we will stay every other night and our guests can stay. I really hope that they approve this, it will be much better than any place we could buy.

Wow...that sounds amazing!!!!! Sorry to have to wait so long and jump though so many hoops though....

Oh and I forgot to mention that we have to give notice to the neighbors about the construction. The withchy neighbor next has vowed to fght us every step of the way

Ugh..there always has to be one. Is there like a witchy neighbor requirement or something...it seems like there is one on every block???

Jeez! To her specifications or was there a HOA with funky specifications that she took to the extreme. either way thats crazy! Though I'm curious. How'd she want you to decorate inside?

That neighborhood has a very strict HOA and some of those serving on the architectural and landscaping committees believe they're deserving of their own shows on HGTV. She was, and is, on both committees. (No term limits, yet.)

Those HOA bylaws do not cover the decor of the inside of the home, only structural modifications to make sure they meet county codes. She wanted everyone to decorate their homes in a pottery barn style. That's great for those who love that style. I wasn't willing to give up my eclectic style and spend the money to redo my entire house! Her request for an interior design committee and added bylaws was denied, almost unanimously.

Olga did not appreciate me sleeping on her bed on the first day. She went and hid somewhere. The second night, she jumped on the bed, walked all over me, purred and drooled, had a cuddle and then went to sleep at the bottom of the bed.

Haha jeez! I wish I had pet insurance for my cairn terror.... He has a disease only found in large breed dogs like Rottweilers and German shepherds.... His medication cost a small fortune and now the vet thinks he also has hypothyroidism totally not a waste of money in my book!

I'm so sorry to hear this. I love cairn terriers! I still miss mine. I hope your furry baby is fine soon, and that you can get your car fixed soon too!

It's fairly quiet here. DH is home today (his usual every other Friday off) and we're getting ready to head to Sam's to grab some stuff. I'm almost finished with the first of three projects that are due today. It won't take me long to finish the other two!
