Are magic hours worth it?

Totally worth it. I always end our day at the park that has the evening EMH (we have AP and park hoppers.) It is one of the main reasons that I stay onsite. When we arrive on this Sunday, the EMH will be until 3 AM and by that time most of the lines are small. I am not a morning person so have never been to the AM ones or a RD.

EMH with park hoppers work great for us. In fact, the new family we brought along with us a couple weeks ago was able to hammer out over half of the attractions they wanted to hit at MK, and we got there AFTER 7:00pm.

In October 2012 when I went with my Dad and younger siblings, we used the evening EMH at DHS. It was worth doing so since we just about walked on Tower of Terror and Rock 'N' Roller Coaster. We were at Epcot earlier that same day.

I plan much of my trip park choices to hit every early EMH possible. DH and DS are not morning people at all but they meet me later those mornings or at our lunch spot for the day.

I have been known to hit an AM EMH for just 90 minutes and then quickly move to another park (often Epcot).

We've found the earlier and later the EMH, the quieter they are because people don't want to get up early and people with tiny kids don't want them up all night. We want to try, on our next trip, only doing later nights with the use of FP+ because we are night owls (on weekends we have a hard time going to sleep before 2am).

I've had really good luck with the late EMH hours on my past two trips. On Labor Day weekend they were open until 3 am on Sunday night. It was pretty crowded until at least 1, but then EVERYONE left. From 1-3 it was like we had the park to ourselves. Went to one in December that I think EMH was either 10-12 or 11-1, but we walked on pretty much everything...it was great!

I can only speak for September but we LOVE using EMH.

We like to do the morning EMH and hit as much as possible. Then we just do what we feel like for the rest of the morning and when things start feeling crowded, we're out. By the time we left during the last MK EMH, it was only about 11:00, we had done everything on our wishlist for that day and were ready for naps. When we exited the park, the line to get IN was so long! We were not sad to have gotten up early to do EMH!

Evening EMH is a little more crowded but still worth it, in my opinion. At least in September when crowds are low to begin with. It feels like a more laid back pace instead of rushing to the next thing all the time.
