Are Magic Bands Waterproof?

Best solution ever at the water parks!! Swam, waterslides, wave pool, did it all! Best part? Hopping out of the Lazy River at Happy Landings for a Hot fudge sundae without having to go back to the lockers for money! Super!

ETA: Or a SUPER yummy Pulled pork sandwich
at Typhoon Tilly's! :)

I do recommend using a "slider" if you're going to wear it at the water parks. They can come undone and fall off, but a "slider" keeps them together.

We swam with ours last summer. It was so much better than having to figure out where I was going to put my room key.

Thanks for asking this! And thanks for the answers. We had just started wondering. :)

Can you get sliders in the parks or resort shops?
I imagine they sell sliders anywhere they have Magic Band accessories. AP's and DVC members get sliders included with their bands. You can always check ebay, too.

Hmmm...my parents are DVC and did not get sliders. We leave in 2 weeks.

What exactly are sliders, and how do they help your Magic Band to stay on? Thanks in advance!

The bands are spec'd to either 20 feet or 20 meters, can't recall which. Either way, it's deep enough for anywhere you'll be at WDW.

I have read that while they are waterproof, they do not float if they come off!

Think of the magic band like a watch. There's that little piece after the buckle that holds the extra lenght to band. It's like that. I slide one over where the band connects together to give it a little extra protection from coming apart.

I guess some people just use them as decoration.

They are also washer and dryer proof, my daughter was playing with one before our last trip and it fell off into her sleeve without her noticing and it went into the laundry

Ok, so they aren't the little decorative thing that look like the things that people used to put on their Crocs, right? Those only look decorative, unless I'm not imagining them correctly? :scratchin LOL

I tried to Google "Disney Magic Band Sliders" and several different-looking items came up. Can someone please post a picture or a link to the slider that will help keep the Band on?? Thanks! :D
