Are magic bands activated/live before you start your resort stay?

I ask because of the free miniature golf vouchers we got with our Disney package deal. We will be in Orlando before our stay starts at Disney.

The free golf vouchers specify you need your magic band and the voucher to get the free game.
I would like to use the golf vouchers before our actual Disney stay begins. Is this possible?

I have a feeling you may not be able to do this until you do Disney resort check in, but it would be nice if we could do it ahead of time. We have some extra time available before we start the Disney part of the vacation.

I would assume that since it's part of your package, that you can't use it until the package starts.

Yes, MBs are "active" when issued.

They have to be active before your trip, as they are used at the airport for DME ID.

As to whether you can "golf" before your check-in date, I have no idea.
(But, I don't think that it would matter much...
it costs the mini-golf location virtually nothing to let you play.)

Your MagicBand provides the link to all the active data in your account.

Mini-golf is part of the resort package and your package becomes active on your actual check-in date.

Moving you to Resorts so the Resort experts can assist you.

No where on the voucher does it say you must be already checked into your resort. It's why I'm hoping it might be possible.

I think I have a chance based on previous poster mentioning the use of the bands at ME. That's before resort check-in and your magic bands work for the buses; so, maybe, it will work.

The vouchers should have the dates of your stay on them and can be used from the starting date and too the ending date. Just looking at our last ones to get that info. So no, you don't have to be checked in but must use them during the dates shown.

No dates on my vouchers. They are very generic. The only stipulation is it must be used before our end date, but that specific end date is not mentioned.

I will probably just try and see. It will just be a ride back and forth if we can't do it.
