Are in-park Quick Service menus $1 cheaper?

I was at the parks last week and I noticed that all the counter-service places seemed a little bit less expensive than they used to be. I seem to remember prices being generally about $1 more a few years ago.

Ticket prices have gone up, parking prices have gone up... but this didn't seem like it did, too, even though food everywhere else is more expensive.

I also noticed that I seemed to get less food than I used to get. My portions of fries, especially, seemed smaller than I am used to. And I'm not a huge eater!

Has anyone else noticed that there has been a price decrease? Has anyone noticed smaller portions at the same time?

(And come to think of it, souvenirs seems a very small bit lower, too...)

Is it my imagination?

We go about 4-6 times a year and never use a dining plan...I dont think they have changed higher or lower....

I dunno, counter service seems a little cheaper to me. Just a little.

Also, there seemed to be less food. Anyone else notice smaller portion sizes? I know there have been quite a few posts about things like chicken nuggets having changed for the worse, too.

The portions are definitely shrinking, which is essentially the same as raising the price.

At Mara (AKL), The bread bowl that the stew came in was significantly smaller, holding less stew.
The kids chicken nuggets were the fast food type rather than a smaller portion of the chicken tenders (which are now smaller "nuggets" as well)

At Pizza Planet in HS, they have finally invented a kids size pizza so that kids can no longer order pizza from the adult menu. It is approximately the size of a large chocolate chip cookie.

The yogurt parfaits (yogurt, granola, strawberries) which were available as a snack credit how now been priced at $4.19, making them ineligible for a snack credit.

Even though I swore LAST trip (05/08) that I would never do DDP again since they changed it, we did it again (10/08) because we planned on hitting the Food and Wine Festival and using the snack credits there would make it worth it. But now with the menu changes, elimination of apps and gratiuty, and smaller portions, we're done on DDP for sure. They're giving away the DDP free more often now because as they shrink the portions and quality of the food, the net $$ effect of that discount for them is less than ever.

I agree that the portions are smaller. Last year we were able to easily share meals. This year we could only share if we were planning to have desert or if we were not really hungry.

I don't think the prices were much different than last year but shrinking the portions in basically the same as raising the price.

At this point we are hoping for free dining for next year. We have enjoyed the DDP in the past but the way it is, currently, I would never pay for it. This years trip we just picked 2 special TS places and that was it.
