Are Grownups Ruining Disney?

Another thing that annoyed me was the number of guests who refused to share ride vehicles. Lines are long enough as it is. Do grown adults really have to ride in their own Dumbos? Or all drive their own cars on Autopia? Is it so awful to have to share your Matterhorn bobsled with a couple of strangers?

Yes, I want my own Dumbo. When I go to Disney, I never have kids in my group, so it's just me, just me & mom or just me, mom & brother. There is no way we fit with two people in one Dumbo, because of my fat butt and long legs.
Oh, and I DON'T want to be set up with someone else's child or just a plain stranger in Dumbo, I don't like them so close to me!! (exceptions will be made when it involves Brad Pitt, George Clonney, Richard Gere, Johnny Depp (in pirate gear) and their lookalikes.)

Exactly the same for Autopia.

A Matterhorn bobsled: I don't mind people being in the other part of the bobsled, but not with me in one seat.

By the way, adults pay lots of money to go into Disneyland, and are allowed to have just as much fun as the kids. I don't see why I should step aside for some stranger kid. No, I won't push them out of my way, but I won't say "oh just go ahead" when I'll be the last one of the line who will be able to greet mickey. Sorry, I'm selfish.

I don't see why an adult can not ride Dumbo on there own, people don't complain when a child rides on there own. Its not like there taking up a whole boat on POTC.

I would not like to sit next to some one I do not know on a ride as I would not enjoy it, I would rather not go on at all.

Also If an adult got to a character before my daughter than I would not expect them to give up there turn for her,They are there on holiday as much as ny daughter is.

however the problem is when it is a child turn and they have been waiting patiently just to get shoved out the way, or pushed in front of then that is wrong. Also I find its mostly adults pushing there children to get to a character that is a lot worse.

I find there are just as many rude kids as adults it goes both ways,
only difference is that the kids can get away with it.
Like one time while waiting in line for dumbo at WDW a boy about 5 was STOMPING on my foot on purpose the parents just laughed.
And I dont even want to talk about the people who think their kids should be in front of me for a parade when ive waited over an hour to have a decent spot. and then crowd all around me and YELL because I move my leg a little. WATCH IT YOUR GOING TO KICK SOMEONE! That night I actually had a bruise Blood clot? from not being able to move my legs for almost 2 hours. Not to mention I had to keep tying my shoe because someone kept untying it.
As far as sharing a dumbo, as far as I know they dont to that, and im always going to have the front so you would have to put up with how low or high I choose to go, I prefer that quick up down to get that small knot in your tummy:)

Its rude for anyone to cut in line big or little.

Umm - all I can think of to say is.....Welcome to California....

Brando :smooth:

Well, to be quite honest, the ONLY place I saw bad behavior was at DL. So don't lump all Californians into one pile. Everywhere else I went, people were courteous and friendly. And the CM's at DL were all great - especially the ones who were trying to pick up trash and spinning their wheels big time. People were dropping it faster than they could pick it up. :sad2:

sorry but I am waiting in line as well and if I want my own row on Dumbo, well - there isn't much you can do. It isn't like rows in SW or POTC boats or jungle cruise. Same thing on Pooh, if I was alone I wouldn't take up the whole cart but I don't want to be sharing my seat with a stranger. Especially in the Florida heat where many others don't realize necessary hygeine issues need some serious addressing. Nothing wrong with that.

For the rude part....there are rude people everywhere....a couple weeks ago we were outside the speedway. DH and DD went on while the baby and I waited to take her pic in one of the cars. This was at park opening so not too many people around. One family was in the parked car and it was very obvious that I was waiting to take a pic or else a stalker really honing in on this family. They get out I start to put DD in and out of nowhere comes a mom dad and three kids and plops in. I said "Oh my God" out loud...she looks at me and said "oh, you were waiting?" no chic, I'm a photopass photographer who takes her kids to work with her. She piles her kids out and says go ahead and I inform her I would rather wait instead of being rushed by them - so flippin rude! In fact I would haev said go ahead if they were hanging around waiting but they swooped in like vultures from no where...but hey, I got the best pic anyway and I wasn't rushed!

I've been during off season when I was the ONLY person in a boat at Its a Small World. It was weird.

They say that's when the dolls come alive and attack. So, did they? ;)

I was at DL for the first time in ten years last week, and had an issue with a very rude adult as well. We were leaving the park and in line for the tram back to the parking structure. My husband and three dds hopped on the tram ahead of me, and as I was about to board, a woman and her 2 year old jumped in front of me. I said "Excuse me, may I sit with my family?" And she rolled her eyes, got off the tram, and yelled 'Go Ahead!' I boarded the tram, and she yelled something at me I couldn't understand (very thick Scottish Brouge). I looked at her questioningly, and she said 'Don't get rude with me, you didn't have to hit me with it'. I realized she meant the balloon the child was holding. I told her I didn't touch her or the balloon, and she replied that I knew what she meant, so I must have done it. AND THEN SHE CLIMBED ON THE TRAM NEXT TO ME. Making it 7 in our row. And she wasn't small.

I was a little nervous, because this woman seemed nuts! I looked around at my fellow tram riders who shot me looks of concern and empathy. I was a bit shaken. I had no mal-intent, and did not touch her or the child, or the balloon. I just didn't want to be separated from my family. :confused3

We did notice many of the cast members being less than on-stage too. Other than those two issues, DL was wonderful! Better than I remembered!

Why do I have the feeling that if people were asked to double up, we'd be getting posts of "OMG, my DS was forced to sit on Dumbo with this fat old lady! It ruined our vacation."

I don't think anyone suggested sharing seats with strangers. It was the fact that families were not sitting together.

I think they implanted this little tape in my brain that keeps playing the theme song over and over and over and over and over........
