Are Florida schools outfor a week in Sept?

Hi, I have a friend who said that the schools in Florida were out for a week sometime in Sept. She is worried that it will effect crowds. Anyone know ?

Hi; I work with a school system here in Florida and each district sets its own calendar (at least for now!). I don't know about the other counties, but ours has only the Labor Day holiday off, and several of the surrounding districts are the same. I'm curious, too, to find out how many do take a week off in September.

We live gulf breeze fl. which is in Santa Rosa County in the panhandle. We have the first week of Oct off for Fall Break. We are actuall y leaving on Sept. 29 and staying till Oct.6th. Hope this helps!

Seminole County, which is a northern suburb of Orlando, is out from September 29 - October 6.

I'm from Miami and it's only Labor Day that schools are off in Sept.

We only get labor day off here in Hendry county and a long weekend in October I think the 13th.

Here in Bay county we only get Labor Day off in September......
In October we get a "Fall break" a long weekend around the 13th. I am already looking forward to that and we JUST STARTED school last week !

In Sarasota county, we have Monday and Tuesday off for Labor Day. Those are our only days off in September. The state does have an in-service day on Friday, October 13, so all public school students in FL should be off that day. We'll be at WDW!
