Are extra magic hours worth it?

We usually take advantage of them. But we tend to go during low crowd times so I've never really seen much of impact from them. Because we go during low crowd times the parks don't tend to stay open as late and we love late nights at the park which is why we enjoy taking advantage of them, especially for MK and EP.

I like EMH at night at Epcot & MK. I've found MK is definitely a mixed bag like others have already pointed out. It does seem the later the EMH's, the better. When MK has EMH until 12am or 1am, that is when lines are pretty much walk on IME. I am there during lower crowd levels though so keep that in mind also. Epcot EMH are nice on days when I get a late start & because I slept in, I'm able to stay up later & do a couple rides or hang out longer at WS so it works out well.

We LOVE the late night EMH in July. Especially if there is rain during the day, the later it gets, the cooler and less crowded the parks are. We almost always shut down the parks, and crowds are noticeably less during emh compared to regular park close.

I have no experience with morning hours (my kids still don't know that MK has an opening show :rolleyes1), but the late ones are great for night owls!

We also use morning EMH and then hope to a less crowded park. We can usually get 4 rides in during that 1st hour. We did a couple of night time EMH on our last trip and really liked it. We had never done it before but now that our kids are older, they have a little more stamina. We were able to do most of the World Showcase during that 2 hours and all the shops were pretty empty. It was an easier touring experience. However, we can't do late one night followed by early the next morning.

Usually, we never take advantage of Extra Magic hours. That being said, there are a few things to consider.

With a two week trip, I think there is less of a need to spend every waking moment in the parks. You will likely be able to accomplish everything you want, and then some.

We also do not ever park hop. I think EMH are more worth it if you are going to a park with EMH, then hopping to a different park for the day or going to your park for the day, then hopping to the park with evening EMH.

That being said, I am breaking with tradition and going with the EMH trip for my upcoming solo trip. I will only have four park days, so did want to maximize my time.
