Are express passes necessary in October?

Do the express passes include all rides? We are going to both parks on Monday, and we weren't planning to get express passes so I haven't researched them at all. After reading these posts I'm starting to think crowds must be higher than I was expecting so I'm debating buying them after all.

One more question, sorry to hijack this thread! If I buy an express pass for the day, is it good for the haunted houses at Horror Nights too? Or would we need new express passes specific to the Horror Night? I don't THINK we will stay for that but we keep going back and forth a bit. Thanks to anyone who can help!

The Express Passes do not include all rides and does not include at lot of the Harry Potter rides.

Pteranodon flyers (which has minimum and maximum height requirements/restrictions anyway), ollivanders, gringotts, hogwarts express, and forbidden journey are not included in Express Pass.

Okay thanks! In that case, I may pass after all, as my main concerns were Forbidden Journey and Gringotts. I guess I'll just plan to get there right at park opening and try to do those right away.

Sounds like the crowds are heavier than usually. So, I went ahead and booked RPR checking in Tuesday evening and leaving Sunday!

2-PARK UNIVERSAL EXPRESS UNLIMITED PASS
Allows you to bypass the regular lines by providing Express Access to participating attractions at both Universal Studios Florida AND Islands of Adventure theme parks.
Express Access is a separate line with a shorter wait time at each valid attraction.
Valid for unlimited use at each participating attraction.
Universal Express pass is not valid for admission to either theme park.
Not valid at Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ™, Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts™ and other select attractions.
Not valid at Hogwarts™ Express.
Note: This ticket is available at the front gate of either theme park.
