Are Epcot EMH worth the effort?

I know in years past, we didn’t have a lot of success with EP EEMH. Seems like it was very crowded and not much open. Has anything changed? Should we give it a try?

We did an EMH (either AM or PM) each day for a week. We had an AM and a PM at Epcot. Both were fun but both were definitely at the bottom of the list as far as being useful.

I’ve never done Epcot evening EMH but I highly recommend morning EMH there. When we did it, we were able to do Soarin’ a lot of times because the wait was so short!

Morning would be worth it to me.

My one experience with late EMH at Epcot was as you describe - long lines at Soarin' and Frozen, and then the EMH was over. Topped off by over an hour wait for a bus to Pop. Bleh.

(Yes, I should have just gone with an Uber. Silly me kept thinking they'd bring in more/double buses...)

I think it depends on what you hope to accomplish during that time. Like a PP said, if you decide to do Soarin and FEA, that will probably eat up your entire time. But if you plan to use it to ride a few things you didn't have time for, like Spaceship Earth or Imagination, and do some shopping and enjoy more time at EP without as many people, then its definitely worth it. We try to use our FP for the hard stuff, then ride the easier to get stuff during the afternoon, and possibly with an additional FP, and then save the easiest to ride stuff for EMH, or things we want to ride again (my kids cant get enough Figment) and doing our shopping during EMH. We also try to wander around the WS a little bit during that time. While the crowds wander out after Illuminations, we like to take in the night there, its got a great vibe. Basically, it just depends on what you hope to get done.

I did morning EMH at EPCOT last week. Started at International Gateway and headed for Soarin. Was in the preshow movie with David Putty at 8:08 and off the ride by 8:20. I headed for Mission Space to find that it was closed until 9. So I got on TT single rider and walked trough the entire queue to the loading area when TT broke down and I had a 15 minute wait while I was next in line. At 8:50 I finally got in the car and after Headed straight to Mission Space which was a walk on at 9:00. So even with a 15 minute TT technical delay I was able to do all 3 thrill rides in future world by the time the park opened. My initial plan was to ride Soarin 3-4 times but by the time I was off of the first ride the wait time was posted at 20 minutes and I knew I was coming back later in the week anyway.

Exactly what we did. We got a lot done during PM EMH. It was our arrival day (late afternoon)...had dinner at Hoop Dee Doo...headed over to Epcot using FP for Soarin...then rode as many rides as we could with very little wait...Returned the next day using FP for FEA (I believe it was 1st day of F&G). I definitely felt we accomplished a lot during PM EMH and made our next day at Epcot more enjoyable (Bonus - we did FEA dessert party as well)!

For me the best way to experience Epcot is with an early breakfast at Garden Grill. You can easily ride Soarin’ twice and get to Test Track early enough to avoid a long queue. And breakfast is actually quite good, I think.
In my experience even during morning EMH queues form really quickly at Soarin’ and Test Track (and these are two attractions we are really interested in).

Sorry, what I meant to say is that I prefer a 9am park opening with 8am breakfast at Garden Grill to EMH. This is how we pick our Epcot day.

We did PM last year and are doing it again next week. We did focus on less popular rides and letting our kids play in the totally empty game areas at the end of rides and had a blast. Our plan had just been to catch a ride or two to avoid waiting for the monorail in the post-Illumimations crowd. For that it worked beautifully.

I checked wait times at 10:30 last night and it was 1 minute at Soarin, 25 at TT.

Edited to add that I just went and looked up the crowd level and yesterday was a 3 at Epcot so YMMV on wait times.

We did EMH (morning) two years in a row, Easter week. It was SO worth it. We go right to Soarin' and practically walk on then head right to Frozen, with a little wait (15 min or less both times). We still had time to do other rides before the park opened for everyone, however, I remember once we got on Frozen, not really caring about the time anymore because those were our 2 main focus points. FWIW, we had a FP for Test Track later, otherwise we may have hit that one up too.
