Are DVC resorts taking temperature before check in?

My point is to apply consistency to Covid Policies. If there are temperature checks prior to entry at parks and Disney Springs, where you are outside versus an indoor space, the policy should also apply to an indoor setting where there is a lobby, indoor corridor, and elevators!
I suspect that at DS and Theme Parks, guests will eventually go indoors, whether to dine, use a restroom, ride an attraction, shop etc. Temp checking before entering at least removes the need to check temps at the entrance to each attraction, store, restroom and restaurant.

At the resort, guests will be semi-confined to their own room/villa. While they may venture into a resort restaurant, they will at least be required to wear a mask before going in. Most of the DVC resorts do have hallways - which can present an issue serving as a congested area along with elevators which have touch-points as potential opportunity for virus spread. Resorts like OKW and SSR with no interior hallways may have a health advantage without hallways using recycled HVAC air systems.

As a health professional, what is your opinion, on having resorts at check in do temperature checks? Doing temperature checks at parks and DS..I personally would like to see it done!
That would create more crowding and lines in the lobby, and therefore raise the risk of spreading Covid. That's why they don't do it at resorts, and indeed are strongly encouraging online check-in along with straight-to-room upon arrival.

At DS & the parks, people are already congregated, so the temperature check doesn't raise Covid risk. That's why one is done and not the other.

And as PPs mentioned, a large percentage of Covid cases do not involve fever, anyway.

To what end? Extended family shows up at BoardWalk for a week in a two bedroom villa. One of the kids has a temp of 100.6. Now what?
Go home or find a resort where they don’t give a hoot! Safest protocol, whether or not the child has child Covid or not, no one wants anyone sick in a resort ever, but especially during a pandemic

Go home...

Easier said than done if you're hundreds or thousands of miles from home.

...or find a resort where they don’t give a hoot!

Think about the practical implications of what you're saying. Someone arrives at MCO, takes Magical Express, arrives at the hotel and is told "sorry, we aren't giving you a room." It could be noon; it could be 10pm. You expect Disney to tell that person to call a cab and drive around Central Florida looking for some hotel that doesn't "give a hoot"?

Hotel rooms are private. Public spaces are undergoing enhanced cleaning. Anyone visiting a hotel now (or a grocery store, or the dr's office, or the hairdresser, or...) is assuming some risk for catching Covid. This is no different. I don't expect Disney to take hard line measures with guests flying across the country. They can deny entry to the theme parks, but they won't leave anyone homeless.

They won’t leave anyone homeless but that person who possibly has Covid with a temperature potentially can infect many others and worse yet others can die from exposure to the hotel patron with the temperature. We are in a pandemic, sorry for the inconvenience of denying a hotel room to a guest with a temperature!!

All I know is that temperature taking is very variable - but it doesn't bother me to have it taken. I hardly run a fever even with flu, strep and other viruses. I can feel very sick but temperature is not a good indicator for me personally. I'm sure there may be others in similar circumstances. SO, I don't think temp taking should be the only standard. Also people will just take meds if they think they have a fever.
This is me too, I run a normal body temp in the 97's so I can be 99 fever with a flu or strep. I go to the doc and they dismiss me as not having a temp, meanwhile, I'm like sickest I've ever been lol. And then I have a ds who runs 99 on a normal, nothing special kind of day...gets a tad overheated and he is at 102 instantly...oh, he is sick, well that is 105 for him. I kid you not. The kid has been at 107 with a normal virus. Docs are amazed, ran every test and he simply 'runs hot'. We show up at WDW in 2 weeks. I worry he will 'run hot' and yet be totally well. Then what...???

Not to worry, the resorts don't test temperature, much to my personal dismay.. If that were to happen, he would be denied access to parks and DS.
