Are Dole Whips that good?

I've never tried one and tonight I dreamt that a show called 'Dole Whip Addiction' was on the Food Channel.

Are they THAT good?

I’m not a sweets guy myself, so I’m not an “expert” on the matter. But to a true sweets lover, if they are half as good as my DW raves, then you’re in for a treat. She’s ALWAYS talking about missing Dole Whip. Whenever we go down {our next trip is in exactly 3 weeks}, one of the first stops we make is the Magic Kingdom. We, of course, first stop at the beginning of Main St to admire the view of the Castle, as always. Then we make a beeline back to Aloha Isle in Adventureland for her Dole Whip. She always says the vacation doesn’t officially start until she gets her Dole Whip. Being married for almost 7 years now, I’ve learned that there are many things that a husband must simply agree to, without discussion. Stopping for a Dole Whip first thing upon arriving at Disney is at the very top of that list. {Now if I could only get my DW to add “Stop at the outside pub at Rose & Crown for my half yard of happiness” to the top of her list, all would be well.}

I love pinapple, but I'm not a sweets person either. They are good, but not something I crave or even really think about when I'm not in Adventureland wanting something cool.

They are a must have for us for us every trip. I think that they are something that Disney has that people look forward to, especially on a hot day

My last Dole Whip was in November at Disneyland and I'm still dreaming about it. Only 59 days til I can have another!

They are really refreshing and cool you down when it's hot. It really is a pick-me-up when I am hot and tired. I always get one when I am at MK.

I don't like them either, which shocked me, because I LOVE pinneapple! I think the combination of the creamy, dairy ice cream with the acidic, citrusy pinneapple juice grossed me out a little. Ice cream swimming in juice? Ick, not for me. A lot of people seem to love them though!

ETA: I may be referring to a Dole float - didn't realize there was a difference!

For me? Yes, Dole Whips (and Floats) are that good.

I'm convinced the whole Dole Whip thing is a big joke. When the DIS boards first started, early members decided to claim Dole Whips are super-duper amazing treats - just the yummiest thing in the world. As new people joined, they were sucked in by peer pressure and agreed. Now the folks originally in on the joke just sit back and laugh as people keep praising the Dole Whips.

Don't get me wrong. Dole Whips are kinda tasty. Nothing special; just ordinary soft serve. No better or worse than you get at a million other places. But pineapple flavored.

That's my theory and I'm sticking to it.

I'll join the club on that one. Dole Whips are good. They are nothing more than a pineapple sherbet-y soft serve. The floats are nothing more than pineapple sherbet floating in pineapple juice and can be refreshing on a hot day....just as anything cold can be. I just don't get the attraction to the Dole Whips. Never have. Never will.

YES! They really are that good. I think alot of it has to do with the fact that they are just really cold in a really hot place.

They are good, but they are not THAT good. I wouldn't say I HAVE to have one. But they are a tasty treat.

They weren't that good for me or DH ... both of us found them to be too tart!
Glad we only bought one to share, because we ended up throwing it away.

They are that good to me! I was just craving one yesterday. I love the floats, I don't like it with just the ice cream. Everybody has different opinions but mine is, that are wonderful! I hope they never close down that stand.

We got a Dole Whip in Adventureland back in May, but it didn't even taste pineapple-y. We wondered if we got the wrong thing, but I don't believe we did. We may try again in October.

I bought one in May just before the Spectromagic parade. I got 1 bite before my DD(3) devoured it. She wanted more and DS(10) was disappointed he barely got a taste. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to go back for more.

So, it was a hit with us.
