We are going to Universal for the very first time & are staying at HRH. Because we are total newbies, I need to know if dining at US is as difficult as WDW as far as table service meals go. Do we need reservations are walk-ups doable? I'm trying to be prepared as possible :flower3: Thanks!

We go every July, and do not make dining reservations, although a few places you would need to book if you want to eat at them-Emerils, Mythos.
i find if you want to make ressies, at most other places, you can on the day at the Booth at Citywalk, its as you come of the moving walkway into Citywalk.
I am sure some will come on with their experiences.

With Harry Potter open during your visit, I would definately say yes...you would need reservations. Since you are staying onsite, you can get priority seating at CityWalk venues by showing your room key.
