Are diaper bags safe in strollers?

On our trip to WDW last year we left our diaper bag in our stroller every time we got on a ride and had no issues with it, but it was our stroller. When we go to DL in June we will be renting a stroller. Would you advise leaving the diaper bag or taking it with us on rides?

It SHOULD be ok...I would leave it unzipped to show that there truly is nothing of interest. If the diaper bag is a favorite of yours I might buy a cheap one!

don't leave anything in it you can't live without, and nothing of value. I do leave some stuff, bottles of water/snack but not the camera.

Do you have room underneath the stroller to put everything in loose? That's what I do. Put diapers and wipes in a gallon ziploc. Bottles/sippies lose in the bottom. Animal crackers and other munchies in quart ziplocs. Easy to grab. And extremely easy on security (it's all see through so we don't have to take anything out to have them dig through).

I would not leave anything behind that you care about. I have heard people saying things are missing when they return and they say people grab bags hoping something valuable is inside. You would be surprised how many people leave valuables in their bags, (I do but always carry it with me) that get taken. I also read on another thread just this week about strollers and bags being taken.

I agree 100% with all the above posts. Don't leave anything behind that you can't live without or that may turn your day upside down. The only thing I will leave in the stroller while unattended are wipes, water bottles and a small insulated cooler with lite snacks in it. I shove it in the far back of the baskets under the stroller and we have never had a problem. I would never leave my diaper bag though. I have way too many things that we need during the day in it. I have never had a problem with any of my things being messed with but I have read horrible stories that have happened to others. It really sucks. Also while you're not near your stroller you don't want to be thinking about something you left in it that someone might be tempted to take. The clear bags or an unzipped bag is a good idea.

I agree..we leave diaper bag..under stroller.my DH takes a backpack with important items..I get a fastpass holder and put my important things(room key, etc) in it and wear it under shirt..makes easy to find and i don't have to tote around a purse..i kinda use it as a mini wallet..as of yet..knock on wood I have not lost it..but that leaves my diaper bag safe and i usually pack enuff for twice as long as the visit..but we have never had any issues..it is stroller central and a lot of people...

There have been a few threads on here about this topic. I know there have been some very unfortunate occasions but for the most part as long as you leave nonvaluables you should be ok. We have not had anything taken and we have left diaper bag, waters, snacks, sweatshirts and sometimes when we have forgotten merchandise purchases.

I put everything underneath but there is no room under the rental for that, just a skinny little area so make sure you have one that can fit around the handles or you'll have to sit it in the seat.

Somebody reported recently that their bag (I forget if it was a diaper bag or backpack) was stolen, even though it only contained diapering items, nothing of value.

We carried our diapering items with us in a backpack, leaving only water bottles and some snacks in plain view in the bottom of the stroller. I agree that you might be safer leaving items in clear ziploc bags rather than a bag that someone thinks might contain something of value.

Also, if you are renting, take a cheap scard (I got ours for .99) and tie it to the handle, then you can find it in a sea of rental strollers, the colorful the better.

Our diaper bag was stolen once! All that was in it was diapers, wipes and the baby necessities but let me tell you, we were miserable! You really can not live without diapers and we only had luck with just one brand not leaking and no spare clothes either-ugh!

After that, we always left just a few diapers and wipes in the stroller in a zip lock bag that was see through for quick changes and used fanny packs for everything else. We would get a locker and put the rest of the diapers in it along with spare baby clothes, sweatshirts, food, and anything else we needed and then periodically stop back at the lockers when we needed to refill supplies.

I would never leave anything in the stroller, we've even had balloons ripped off the handles. Worse than that, I've seen other toddlers grabbing and sucking on other kids drinks that were left in the stroller-yuk!! Then when their mom calls, they throw them down into the wrong stroller.

Our stroller and bag was taken in the beginning of February on a Saturday night. Nothing of value, but still impacting to a small child. This was the
7th trip to DL and 5 trips to WDW with the stoller and this bag in 4 years.

The stroller we found later that evening and backpack Disney found during the morning cleanups. Nothing was missing except the nametags we had on the stroller and backpack.

I agree with all the above posters. Leave everything in visable site (clear bags). We had nothing of valuable in the stroller, but because of the dark bag, no one could tell that. If we take a stroller again, we will put everything in clear, seethrough bags.
