Are dessert parties difficult to book?

We will be traveling in April 14-21st- not near Easter, but will be the week of many school vacations -- touring plans has most days around 5-6 for crowds.

We are interested in booking the garden dessert party for HEA. I understand they open up reservations at 180 days.

Are these hard to get - that i need to call right when my reservation window opens?
Do they follow the 180d +10 for resort guests?

I would like get get all my other dining reservations set and then plug in the dessert party when it works.

Or do i need not to sweat this because they usually don't sell out.

Any advice is appreciated!

They don't really sell out at 180 days unless it's a busy time of year. Lately they haven't been opening booking until well after 180 days. I think I booked our HEA dessert party on Nov 3rd just a couple of months ago.

The dessert parties seem to be coming available at random times. I think that the Dec. 30 and 31st parties became available first of last week (maybe end of the week before) and I booked ours at the end of the week. So it didn't sell out right away, but you might want to follow some threads on here to find out when they are available for your dates.

I just tried to make a reservation for the Garden viewing party at MK in Jan and would have been able to do so. I stopped when it said it was going to charge my credit card in advance. I took that to mean today or very soon. Is that correct? I really don't want to pay for it now.

Does anyone know for sure when they charge you?

They charge you right away for dessert parties. You can cancel for a refund until 5 days before.

Buy early if you can. Dessert parties have very limited space and sell out quickly. You WILL be charged up front but can get a full refund if you cancel ahead of time.
