Are Deluxe Resorts worth the extra money?

Thanks everyone for their input. We have stayed at Pop didn't mind it then did Caribbean Beach loved it (kids loved pool since DD was not big enough for big water slide) I have stayed at Riverside also enjoyed. Last trip we stayed at AOL mermaid room DD loved it but I felt not really worth the extra still felt like a value at a moderate price but promised DD we would stay at Ariel's hotel. We always have a car and still will since are doing split stay with cruise and Universal but thought of not having to get in car or wait for bus sounds so nice. Will just wait to see pricing.

I would stay at the Swan/Dolphin. You have the convenience without the price tag, lots of dining options, comfy beds and an excellent pool.

Remember at the Swolphin you have a lot of extra fees that they use to nickle and dime you

The Deluxes are absolutely worth it for my family.

For starters, most of them sleep 5 in a standard room. (The exceptions are AKL and WL.)

The location/transportation can't be beat. Two weeks from today, I'll be able to WALK from our room to Epcot. And walk (or, more reasonably to me in the summer heat, take a boat) to DHS. That convenience is incredible, particularly at the end of a long day after Illuminations. I'm in my bed while thousands of other people are lined up waiting for a bus.

As teachers, we only go over the summer. And we take a swim break every single day. The pools at the Deluxes are amazing... take a look at the photos of Stormalong Bay.

And I love the feel of the Deluxes. I'm pretty cheap day to day. But we save for a long time for a WDW vacation. I love the feeling that I'm being pampered, and the Deluxes provide that.

It's not the right choice for everyone. My brother in law could well afford a Deluxe, but would rather stay at CBR... it's the right choice for his family. For us, it's a Deluxe. This will be our first Yacht Club stay, having loved the Beach Club in 2012.
