Are Deck 8 verandas in the shade (of Deck 9)?

Maybe it's an illusion... in the brochures, it looks like Deck 9 sticks out a bit further over the verandas below it. Just wondering if the July sun will make the veranda uninhabitable, or is there indeed shade from above. Thanks.

While deck 8 and deck 7 seem to protrude the same amount, our verandah on deck 7 was almost always basically shaded from above so I would suspect that there is a fair amount of shade most of the time on deck 8 verandahs. I, unfortunately, have never been on a deck 8 verandah except in my dreams

umm we stayed on deck 8 and 7....and i think 6 also...and each time our verandahs were in the shade....i just think all the verandahs are covered so unless the suns gonna be low then i think your stuck with shade!

Sun may not be an issue but humidity may be. Our first cruise was during the summer and it was so humid that we hardly ever used our verandah, it was just too uncomfortable. Our last cruise was at the end of March and the weather was perfect.

I was on the WOnder in July in a cat 5 and while occassionally it was warm outside - and therefore warm on the verandah, when the ship was moving the breeze was awesome and the temp very comfortable (night time was also spectacular!)

The breeze really didn't make a difference to us. It was just hot, humid air blowing on us and we didn't enjoy it. At night it didn't really cool down much.
