Just finishing up packing and this question just dawned on me. I know regular irons are not permitted, but are curling irons allowed?

I took mine and I never had a problem. It sat out right on the counter in the bathroom and the room steward never said a thing against it. I guess they want us to look decent for dinner.:rotfl2:

I usually go with the "hey, I'm on vacation" look, but I finally have a hair cut I like (hmmm, that only took 31 years).

i take my hair straightener.. and i'm always careful to unplug it.. i also, take a surge protector (for extra outlets) and use it on the desk in the main room..

In all my time on DCL and this forum, I don't recall reading about any restrictions on curling irons (from DCL or other posters).

Apparently hot curling irons are not as dangerous as regular irons. After all, regular irons are larger and heavier.

I had no problem. I brought a surge protector strip and used the mirror at the desk when I used the curling iron - more elbow room than the bathroom. The extra outlets were helpful to recharge the camera battery and phones overnite. They ask you to unplug everything if you're not in the room, but otherwise, you can bring curling iron, hair dryer, etc.
